I get a kick how some are comparing this very mediocre SW teaser to TDK teaser now.

I loved the teaser; some great images especially X-Wings flying across the water and then the Darkside user in the forest. I see the debates and arguments are strong surrounding a Star Wars movie just as they were back in the old days with the Prequels, the next year will be very interesting.

No the way you keep saying it is that I'm a nitwit who is easily entertained and am not sophisticated enough to understand your view. Please stop with the derogatory statements. I don't mind that you did not like it but saying we are easy to please is an insult. And a personal sleight of hand.

I think it was a very effective Teaser, it wasn't supposed to be a trailer, and for a film that is going to take another year to be released, they showed quite a lot.

I never praised it. I wanted footage back than also. It's apples to peaches.

It's different times now. Back than Nolan got away with it.

However, this is Star Wars and if you show footage...at least show memorable shots and do a better job of editing. Who cares about a storm trooper taking off his mask in Tatooine with an imperial probe droid background noise. Who cares about X wings and soccer ball robot and seeing the back of a sith with an odd poorly executed lightsaber that is just trying to be different for different sakes.

A waste of time....especially with all the hype generated.

What were you expecting from a Teaser to a film that's still gona take another year to be released? I was only just expecting to see a bit of a scene in the desert or something like that, not so much insight into the look of it or the main villain.

Teasers are normally crap. And this one actually showed stuff which made it all the better as well as having good pace. One or 2 shots might have been unnecessary but overall it's definitely put me in the mood for more Star Wars. Ao glad that it really has the classic rather than prequel vibe.

Months ago we thought we wouldn't see a teaser or any footage until April or May and they surprise us and some people's response is "pfft whatever." Makes ya'll sound a bit entitled. If JJ wasn't going to show us the entire movie in the first teaser, he should have bothered. I fully expect the next trailer to be two hours and 11 minutes long and if it isn't, I'm boycotting the movie.

It is what it is.Abrams is notoriously secretive.And so the teaser is good,based on his track record.(I was expecting the equivalent of the Falcon scene,and nothing more) But by and large,it's fairly underwhelming when put against other teasers these days.

Dude be super thankful for what we got, really i was expecting 1 FX shot at the most and we got the freaking Falcon flying! not only that but x wings, new storm troopers, a dark side user, what more do you want the whole movie?

Teasers set the tone and give a glimpse of whats to come, the trailer did that and beyond for me and i think for most of the viewers. If there wasn't original cast members i don't mind, i love those guys but this is a new trilogy and newcomers deserve the spotlight as well.

I don't consider myself easy to please, i try to give a chance to people that actually put the effort and have love for the material. I wont say it will be the best movie ever but i can say that from this trailer im really looking forward to it, and that's what a good teaser should do

Because yes you would hear tons of people complaining that we will have old people heading the movie. Which is not the case, it really is about the new characters with our old trio of importance and passing the torch but not the center of the films.

This movie isn't about Luke, Han and Leia. This movie belongs to the characters of Ridley, Boyega and Driver. Isaac also seems to be a deal. People complaining specifically because they didn't get shots of the trio are avoiding the reality of the situation.

Did I want to see Luke? God yes. But this teaser was made to establish that this is a new generation. The Falcon at the end was the nod they needed.

For me it's not about how much footage they put in. Or If the original cast were in it. It's what they put in it.

A storm trooper running up a sand dune and a football droid that (to me) looks silly. I could have done without. I'm sure they had better footage of Boyega where he is looking badass.

But as a lot of people on here seem to love it. It has done it's job. I would have liked something that would get me excited a bit more though.

But,this teaser didn't really acclimate us to the new cast.So if that was the intention,it failed even more.It's just some random images.

We got a glimpse of Boyega and I still don't know for certain,but I'm guessing Ridley on the speeder.It did nothing to introduce the new characters.I'm thinking that would be the purpose of the full trailer.

What the teaser should've done was give a glimpse of the old cast.Then you'd have everybody and their brother rallying around in excitement.Try as they may,you can't convince me that Joe Public is more interested in some nondescript stormtrooper/girl on a bike than seeing a glimpse of Mark Hamill after 30 odd years.
