The Force Awakens Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens Trailer #1 Discussion - Part 1

I'm not gonna lie, I like this one.

Lucasfilm should really hire this talented artist.

Why are people thinking there will be a different trailer next month? There's no reason to assume they will attach a different trailer to Hobbit or Into the Woods.

We won't have any new footage for at least four months...

This script balances the humor with honest, direct writing that gives Jar Jar (dare I say?) a soul. He may be a sidekick, but here's betting that Jar Jar Binks becomes one of the biggest EPISODE I stars once audiences get their real introduction.
Hahahahahahaha

When I say that the trailer as a whole doesn't evoke or say that much to me I don't mean that I want more footage or plot or anything, I know it's a teaser. It's just that I don't get any sense of any certain feeling or direction when I watch the teaser. The last part with the newly recorded fanfare and Millennium Falcon vs. Tie Fighters leading into the logo would have been a fantastic mini teaser in itself.

I dig a lot of the shots and stuff in the trailer individually, the trailer as a piece of work doesn't really entice me.

The shot of the very aggressive moving Sith in a dark and haunting landscape of snow and forest is killer cool and anticipating. The soccer robot looks super quirky and fun. The static shot of a speeder taking off into the distant is pure Star Wars adventure feeling.

Like I've said there is some footage I love even though the trailer itself doesn't sway me completely.

I like however that Drew says (on paper). Even the novelization of Episode I was good. But the second it jumps on screen, not so much.

Where can I find some Episode VII banners from the teaser?

Like Daisy on the speeder?

or the sith forrest pose?

So is Moriaty, Drew McWeeny?

Also I can't believe he heard Watto's and Jar Jars voice and still was confident for the film.

It's a very interesting read, I was too young to be aware of all this stuff, I didn't know most of the films story could be found on the internet.
Yep, one in the same.

God, I love this kid. It makes me feel sick from grief when I realize that he's going to be Darth Vader someday, hated, feared, a symbol of evil. This kid is a good, pure spirit, beloved by the people around him. ...If he works, this will be one of the most textured kids roles in history.

What parts of the script made him think this?

Anyone already posted the George Lucas version parody of the trailer yet?

In the Spoilers thread yeah, but not in here.

It's good though. Thumbs up to the person that made it.

I really enjoyed the trailer. The best part was the tiny little ball-bearing droid. Years ago George mentioned that was his concept for R2.

Not much to go on with that trailer. However, it was fun to see the iconic Star Wars ships. not sure about the lightsaber. I guess you could says , it's unholy! lol

Somebody edited the Millenium Falcon scene to put it in a still angle, i actualy think it looks better this way

Even as one who quite likes TPM in some ways, I can only shake my head at that ridiculous and hyperbolic script review for it.

I think it looks good either way. I found the original shot a little disorienting until I'd seen it a few times but I expect that effect was intended. I guess it was meant to look like a chase cam trying to keep up with the Falcon.

Ya I like the way it is in the trailer, it gives a roller coaster feel to it, makes you feel like you are with the Falcon.

It's going to look so good on the BIG screen!
