I agree. They should make Knights of the Old Republic or the Force Unleashed or something.

SWTOR trailers are nice ( as the game itself ) but I would not be interested in a movie in this era because the main villain, Darth Malgus, is just a copy of Vader.
Note that I don't know the EU stuff at the time of TOR, maybe there are decent villains and heroes.

Why does it have to be about the Skywalkers again? Why not do something set 1,000 years before the events of 6 movies?

Because even if it was already done there's a lot of interesting things that weren't explored enough and with today's technology the original designs can be used more faithfully and maybe even improved.

But you're also right in the fact that there's more than the skywalker family, a lot of story potencials weren't even explored yet, the Dawn of the Jedi comic mini-series is exploring a time of the galaxy i allways wanted them to explore, one of the trailers for The Old Republic even had a battle with a scale as big as the lord of the rings, that would be really cool to see on screen

I remember there was a thread about that, i heard about it when it was announced, while the story may not end up being very good i want to know more about that time of the galaxy, so i'm gonna read it, and i hope more stories set in that time period are done

I don't need to see anyone's interpretation of it. It's not needed. Not that any is needed but when remakes/reimaginings are done, a lot of times you sit there and it's just an obvious attempt by a Studio for more money.

Do we really need to see Peter Parker become Spider-Man again?

This I agree with, most of the times the reason for remakes is for the sole purpose of making money off of something that someone else made up already. But I would still be interested in seeing Georges' original vision of SW (Luke in scuba gear, lightsabers common weapons and all that), maybe not as a new trilogy but animated short or comic or whatever.

I think ti would be like the Star Trek reboot where they are able to make something good and original with the characters, and like the Peter Jackson King Kong reboot where they sue the plot of the original and expand it, and where it's effects are not as amazing now as they were during it's time but it's still really well done and great.

I doubt they would make a reboot without good creative minds behind it, if rebooting it is already a risk, not having a good director and good writers is suicide, The Amazing Spider-man actually has a good director and actors on board, but his origin was made 10 years ago, with the last film only being 5 years old when the reboot arrives, with Star Wars a reboot would only happen after Lucas dies and even then it'll take a lot of time.

You can argue that there wasn't talk about a reboot yet because Lucas has the rights, still it would be a bit disrespectful to reboot Lucas's creations like this after his death so i'll stop talking about it, but that doesn't mean a reboot of Star Wars could be good, if it was ever made i think they would probably try to make it a big scale movie like Avatar.

The Star Trek reboot I enjoyed but it took the whole time traveling and doing a new timeline. They've never did time traveling in Star Wars.

And Kong was essentially the original with more bloated parts. I haven't watched it again since I saw it in the theaters.

I'm just more for a new original series than a rehash of the original.

The one thing I like about doing a post-ROTJ is that we wouldn't already know where the story is heading. I've always thought that they could maybe pluck onje or two characters out of the Old Republic era and place them in a new context, however I wouldn't be against an Old Republic movie.

Nomad Obi Wan is a must! I am really looking forward to seeing the rest of the line as the concept of capturing "offscreen" moments is a great one IMO.
