Willow Rosencrantz

I don't read Buffy comics, but back in the '90s I think I was a little bit in love with Alyson Hannigan. :hehe:

Never bothered with Buffy the Vampire Slayer or even How I Met Your Mother, but Alyson Hannigan was a crush I had back in the day. :hehe:

She's even hotter after the kids. Boobs got massive.

Meh, I've always liked Casper better.

Wendy's cool! i like that she tried to step outta society's pre-determined, stereotypical role imposed on her that she had to be a "bad witch" and forged on her own path.

How come all the Harvey characters have the same face? Casper looks like Richie Rich, and they BOTH look like Wendy... what gives?!

Anyway, today's is another Popeye character... mostly 'cos I love Popeye, :hehe:

Wimpy

Wimpy is funny & somewhat of a cheapskate always promising to pay for hamburgers he eats next week. He's an enjoyable character in Popeye's "universe".

Wimpy's cool! one of those comedy reliefs characters ,where he gets in trouble because of his lustful personality for hamburgers and being broke instead of the obnoxious over the top personalities that i hate like He-man's Orko!

Hah! Excellent.

No, but seriously, the guy has a real problem. :o

HAH!! I knew there was something very wrong with Wimpy!!

I've never found the interest or point to comics or rather comic strips that are based in politics or rely on political humor much like Doonesbury.

MANNNNNNNNN! DOONESBURY IS THE &^%*&!! it skewered everybody but mostly public officials! it was like "blazing saddles" and the Simpsons only when the Simpson was good and long before it started! that &^% is AWESOME!

Never saw or heard Willow's surname before
I liked her more before being a witch

Wendy: What's with ghosts and witches so greatly intent on scaring people? Never got it

Wimpy can't beat Jughead in a burger eating contest :o

Speaking of Jughead, is he a relative of Mike and his daughter? They all have the long nose

Doonsbury is like Family Circus or Mary Worth....I don't even bother to read that s**t. I read Garfield (imagining he's not there the whole time) Pearls before Swine, Bizarro, then Luann. After that, I'm done with the comics section. :o

So we did Fritz the Cat ages ago, today's is Robert Crumb's OTHER well known character:

lf

Mr. Natural

From Wiki:

"Part wise man, part conman, Mr. Natural has strange, magical powers and possesses cosmic insight; but he is also moody, cynical, self-pitying, and suffers from various strange sexual obsessions. He is endlessly being accosted by would-be disciples seeking the truth (among them such long-running Crumb characters as Flakey Foont and Shuman the Human). He typically regards them with amused condescension and a certain grudging affection, although his patience often wears thin and he takes sadistic pleasure in making them feel like idiots. While he is typically very cool and in control, he sometimes ends up in humiliating predicaments like getting tossed in jail for child molestation or languishing for years in a mental institution. In recent years he has entered into a tempestuous relationship with Devil Girl, another popular Crumb character. Enormously popular during the underground comics fad of the 1960s and 1970s and still enjoying a cult following today, Mr. Natural has been endlessly merchandised as a decorative plastic statue and on bumper stickers, posters, T-shirts, etc."

I don't think I ever actually read anything with Mr. Natural in it. Seen a ton of pin ups with him it though.

Crumb's kinda racist, kind of a misogynist, bat s**t insane, and likes big butts.

So, I'm unsure what to think.

Wait, Crumb's a racist? Damn... I always thought he was just a bit of an oddball. :csad:

Anyway, I'm the same. Natural's just an image for me. Character-wise I have nothing to say...

Well, I don't know if I'd call him a racist....but you remember how everybody used to draw black people in the Eisner days then stopped cuz that s**t was racist? Well he didn't stop.

Though I think it was more artistic social commentary or something. I don't know. I get kind of offended when I see some of that s**t. Then again, I do dig the way he draws women. Giant Amazon's. If any of you get the chance you should watch the documentary they did on him a while ago called "Crumb". Lotta insight into him and his family and the way he thinks. Very interesting.
