State Your Opinion on A DC Character - Part 3

I realize until now that I've been wearing my Comedian shirt all day.

He's not really a serial killer. Serial killers are defined in psychology circles by their compulsions and devotion to ritual.

The Comedian is a spree killer, those are the ones who randomly murder people when they get bored and generally don't have much of a preference in regards to victim type or method of killing.

I was talking about the Punisher.

The Comedian is a sociopath who fights for the good ole US of A......so you know....real American hero over here.

I don't know....the dudes.....complicated that's for sure.

...but no one understood him but his woman.

The Silk Spectre didn't die. Oh you thought I meant his ho? (no pun).

It's could be perceived as one since I was talking about a vietnamese hooker here. Har dee har.

Jesus christ bro you're too serious. I'm not going to elaborate because it's politically incorrect. Time to vacate this thread. *poof*

He's totally unlikeable. That's what's so likeable about him.

He's also cool in the fact that he died at the very beginning of Watchmen and yet is so heavily important to the story afterwards.

I also got an idea for a Fight round from this thread.

I despise him

And I love Ozymandias for tossing that worthless piece of trash out of a window

Oh yeah!the Comedian.*A total amoral, nationalistic, sociopath, sex offender, dirt bag and I TOTALLY LOVE HIM!!! It took me about 10 times reading that damn book to finally get dude. I was like for a name like that, this dude sure aint &^%$ &^ing funny !Then just like “the Killing joke.”When The joker was saying about how World War 2 got started over telegram poles or spending trillions of dollars on a missile “Star Wars” defense program! This &^%$ is all one big ass joke!!it took me awhile and some real life stuff to finally get it.I’ve always considered myself a surrealist. so I think I should have got it earlier, but I must have been dense! That and too caught in the regular superhero genre to get it.I love that dude! I think he is one of truly great comic characters of all time.So much so that “ bless me father “ for I confess twice now I have dressed as cat!

1)For the Halloween fetish and fantasy ball( hehe i got pics)
2)For a Las Vegas superhero pub crawl downtown( hehe i got more pics!)

And both times chicks were like can I get a picture with you! Hehe( chicks love the bad boys!) Heroes like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. One man’s dictator or terrorist is another man’s hero. The comedian takes that word and turns it on its ear. One of the most complex characters in printed form and I will always love that guy.The best punch line is yet to come!

* Note - Black Vulcan doesn't condone that type of behavior because if it aint freely given... then i don't want it!

Well, what I mean is that the character forces you to question what the word hero actually means. He's not good by any stretch of the imagination, bur he's not totally evil either. He was a heartless killer who died standing up to a utopian idealist's plan because he knew it was wrong. He did villainous things, unforgivably horrible things, but he also did heroic things. The very purpose of the character's existence in the context of the story is to force the reader to actually think about this word, hero, that everyone takes completely for granted.
Did he though?

He died because he was a loose thread in Ozy's scheme. He knew what was going down, he just couldn't make sense of it because it didn't fit into his life view and seemed to be prepared to ignore it and move on with his life. He didn't confront Ozy and call him out on it, he died because Ozy went to his territory and offed him for knowing too much and making him too vulnerable.

If anything made him sympathetic it was the fact that his lifestyle meant that the only person he could go to when his world was shaken to the core was Moloch, not that he stood up to a utopian idealist's plan because it was morally wrong.

If anything Ozy relied on the fact that Comedian doesn't draw these morals lines because of his own life view to keep him silent until he could waste him.

That's true...he didn't really DO anything about Ozy's plan. He freaked out and told Moloch, then went home and got drunk for a few days before Veidt came and offed his ass.

Anyway....

The safe word is chocolate Fist.

Ozymandias

The real hero of Watchmen. HAHA! Discuss!

He's completely out of his mind and a pretty awful person in general

But he has a giant kitteh as a pet and gave her her own action figure

So he's not all bad

Great, great villain and made a strong but still wrong argument for his plot.

Luckily Peter Cannon, Thunderbolt was spared being portrayed as a sociopath and is now out of corporate hands and safely with the estate of his creator, Pete Morisi.

like Kuro said a great great villian and another awesome character! really for all real life bad guys... Watchmen should be required reading. like those dip wads in Tulsa who went out and randomly shot people and then went home on facebook totalked about it. see if they would have read watchman they would have known not to do stupid *&^% like that and tell people what you are doing!( whos says you cant learn things from comics!!!)though he was faulty of hubris. you gotta give the cat credit.. and man killing your boys who helped you put said evil plan in motion and your pet..Well that's just wrong!!

Only way to keep a secret is to have as few people as possible know said secret.
