Best goddamn thing to ever come out of an X-Men comic. I love Beast. The cat look's grown on me since they stopped giving him those awkward digitigrade legs, but I agree that it would be awesome to see him return to looking human for a while. It happens to the Thing all the time; why not Beast too?

Actually, it was Morrison.

Wanted him to be more like Beast from Beauty and the Beast.

The in comic reason was he nearly got killed, then Sage did something that caused him to devolve more.

Is it that they really wanted him to be more like Vincent from Beauty and the Beast, or that they wanted Hank to be less like Wolverine? After all, he did have the same pointy hairstyle.

In the X-Men movies, where he hasn't evolved into a cat beast, they've also seemed to have tried to distinguish him from Logan as Kelsey Grammer's hair just flopped down and looked like a shaggy mane. In First Class it wasn't the pointy hairstyle either. It's as if they want it to be a unique look or even outline for one character.

Beast didn't have the pointy hairstyle since the early '90s. At least, not consistently.

But in his most commonplace incarnations, eg the X-Men cartoon or even the Marvel Legends figure, he did have that.

That's Mutant X beast eh?

I wish those characters would pop up again, I loved Mutant X Captain America

LEADER

Ow! My head hurts!

9 on the Rock-o-meter for me, at least when his head doesn't look like his brain

I prefer that classic version of the leader to the one who looks like a giant brain head (as shown in the Hulk cartoon). I hope he does get to feature in a sequel to TIH.

He's one of my favorite villains. I like villains who tend to be master manipulators, so he's definitely in my top 15.

Not too familiar with Hulk's villains, as I don't read much Hulk. He's alright, I guess.

Yeah spider,Dark. I dig the big head over the big brain version, that's why I used that pic( those brain synpases look icky!) Leaders an 8 on the rocktor graph! I always dug how he was the brains to hulk's brawn.yet big dumb ass hulk always beat him. I guess there's always someone dumber than you!( or quite not as stupid as you think there are! Hehe)Plus dude's more than just hulk foe he's taken on the avengers and others too. I dig him only I am not following his ass anywhere!

Seriously, why isn't the Leader...smarter? More dangerous? An AAA-lister? He should be mentally as much a threat as the Hulk when it comes to muscle.

Question, the smartest people in the Marvel universe are universally heroes (though Doom is usually on that list...). Why isn't there a list for the villains? M.O.D.O.K. and Leader better be on that list.

Anyway, I like the Leader.

The Leader's cool. He does usually seem to be underplayed, though. I suspect that's because his rivalry with the Hulk represents an inversion of the standard brains-over-brawn message. The Hulk has to win by being dumb and strong, unlike the usual formula where "dumb and strong" usually equals "bully."

I think he's underplayed because of one of two reasons. Either the writers feel that if they moved him away from Hulk he wouldn't be as great a foil to the Hulk, or they just don't want another ultra smart villain when most of the top guys are evil geniuses like Doom and Magneto.

The Leader's cool and all but I think they should just get rid of BannerHulk for a while. I mean, he's so far removed from the rest of the universe these days more than ever and it seems Aaron has no intentions of changing that. His supporting cast has been all powered up and deconstructed from what it once was. Marvel is putting more effort into Rulk and Betty ShRulk than they are the original. If anybody needed a Jean Grey level time out from existence it's Bruce Banner. Kinda went off the rails a bit but it's been bugging me for a long time now.
