State your unpopular film related opinion - Part 5

As for Ant-Man, yeah I don't really see it either. But who knows with a good script and a good director, anything is possible.
I used to really like The Incredible Shrinking Man and Fantastic Voyage when I was a kid. On a side note what happened to the rumored Cameron 3D remake of Voyage?

I think Shawn Levy's directing it.

I didn't care for the ant-man movie until i knew it would be directed by the guy that made hot fuzz

I don't think that's an unpopular opinion. I think that's how at least 90% of the people planning on seeing it feel.

I want it to be Scott Lang Ant Man....not the Wifebeater

Actually it was a statement to the unpopular opinion of not caring for Ant-Man:oldrazz: Sorry if i confused you

Man, Ant-man hate also puzzles me. I can't believe people can't see the potential for that kind of character.

I now see it, after thinking of how many ways they can make it the movie can be very cool

There is a truckload of possibilities there. You could do a more horror-ish take like The Incredible Shrinking Man, or have a microscopic adventure film, kind of like World Within the World voyage. I think there was an idea thrown out about it being a special agent film or something. All kinds of neat things you could do with that, especially when you get into how villains may potentially combat him on the small level.

I still can't see it being done in a way to appeal to the masses. Like Green Lantern they just won't accept his powers as legit.

Totally not unpopular...but The Last Airbender is the best example of a movie filmed inside someone's colon. Horrible movie. Except for two things...the score, and the kid DOES look like ANNNNNNGGGG.....not UNGGGG. I've only seen two episodes of that show, and I know that....

I thought about watching the movie a few times out of morbid curiosity due to liking the show, but if it's as a fraction as bad as it's suppose to be, I'm probably never going to watch it.

A shame, too, because that could have potentially made an interesting film. I think the best idea, though, is to maybe do something different than just a direct adaptation of the show. Maybe a pseudo-prequel or pseudo-sequel with another Avatar. That ship has sailed, though, obviously.

Nickelodeon could have made an animated movie that took place after the series ended and made a **** ton more money, than wasting time making a live action version

It's on Netflix for free....but I mean, it's not bad because of the show stuff...I know very little about it. However, the plot, the characters, and the acting are all dreadful.

It actually IS worth watching to see how crazy M. Night is. You have to wonder how this guy ever got big....after seeing this movie. Was it all a fluke before?

In a normal movie, when a hero meets a pretty girl, you know this because of a look. A look becomes talking, and talking leads to a kiss....

What does this movie do? It shows the hero walk up to a girl, and a voiceover states "And then my brother became very good friends with the princess".

Oh wow. Thanks M. Night, I totally would'nt have got that.

that movie is like a high school play....kids walk out, maybe hit their mark, look down to find said mark, and then line

Hahaha...indeed. That Noah Ringer kid was bad in Cowboys and Aliens too....so maybe the kid just sucks? Or bad directing??

Child actors can totally act natural, see Super 8. Great acting. For any age.

I dont think that was the problem GL had at all.

I've seen so many reviews were people completely wrote off the guy before giving him a chance because his power was "to make green stuff". That one video where the group of critics go to see it comes to mind especially.

Edgar Wright is writing and directing Ant Man. That is reason enough to be excited for it.

I'm not saying there's no potential, but what I'm saying is that as of right now I have no desire to see an Ant-man movie and that Edgar Wright has his work cut out for him gaining my interest for an Ant-man movie. I'm not completely shutting the doors because I can easily be swayed with a trailer.

This Ant Man hate is baffling. And leads me to believe that a lot of people haven't actually read anything involving Ant Man.

Pym is like a more charismatic and mentally unstable Reed Richards. And the power to grow 60 foot tall and shrink down to the size of an ant opens up possibilities for a lot of cool action scenes.

Put it this way, Jason Bateman would be perfect for Hank Pym. And Jason Bateman is awesome.

I haven't read Ant-man, but he just doesn't interest me. His powers are boringt to me. Like I said, if the trailer is good enough my interest will peak.

I've always liked Ant-man. I didn't expect him to get his own film but there is a lot of potential. I just hope Simon Pegg isn't cast as the lead. I like him as an actor but there are better options.
