Stephen King's 'Carrie' remake

Its a definite possibility. Its also possible they are confident in the performances and writing to hold its own in the Fall.

That, too, but I REALLY wanna see some more marketing towards Evil Dead right now! I know there's another red-band trailer coming (a contest was held by IGN that ended last month to see it early in private), and we haven't hear a peep on that movie since NY Comic-Con, anyway!

Well, they got a shockingly good cast in Moretz and Moore for the two leads as opposed to just some CW people, so they will expect some kind of return on it.

That's a MUCH better release date. Longer. But awesome horror movies and halloween horror outside of Paranormal Activity? Bound to get great box office and be the best time to see it.

I wonder the delay being pushed back means...the film is not good?? Hence reshoots ??

But then again, October is a good month to release horror films.

Yeah, that's from Let Me In. Bummer it's getting delayed, I'm very much looking forward to this but that is a better release date for this type of film.

I find it interesting that both this movie and The Seventh Son are hitting theaters on the same weekend. Two movies with Julianne Moore either in a starring or supporting role as the villain.

Or the prior release date was barely 2 months away and they've barely had any advertising.

There have been no reports of reshoots, just of a horror film being moved to October. That hardly seems like reason to worry.

One thing I just thought and of course I could be totally wrong about but maybe they also pushed it back because of the Sandy Hook tragedy?
I mean March is only 4 months away from December (when the tragedy happened) and maybe they thought releasing a film about someone killing a lot of people in a school wouldnt be that good to release only a few months from that happening in real life.

As I said, it's just a thought. Probably wrong

Is this Carrie taking place in present day or in the 70s?

I think the original is great, but the remake seems more in line with the book what with the teaser shot of her destroying most of the town.

I was looking for horror movies on youtube yesterday and came across the 2002 version of "Carrie". It was so bad it was horrible, indeed :funny: . But I didn't even like the story (I didn't watch it till the end, but I read about the plot in Wikipedia) and I'm not really looking forward to this remake either.

That was a TV movie that was also a pilot of a series of Carrie going around and helping people like her. You can't judge this film based on that.

Yeah, TV movies suck on the whole. It would be like judging The Shining based on the horrible 1997 TV movie.

Stephen King adaptations don't seem to ever work as TV movies lol.

Pennywise himself was effective but man that miniseries has not aged well.

It pains me that there is an updated IT script out there somewhere. The script is supposed to be other good and the writer was offered several other jobs because of it but for some reason the movie was never produced.

Pennywise was great, but beyond that, It was pretty terrible. I watched it again after re-reading the book recently, and I really didn't like the movie at all.

They did a much better job with The Stand, but that had the same problem that lies with a lot of Stephen King novels: he just doesn't write very good endings.

Yep, IT isn't that great and hasn't aged well at all either. Definitely room for improvement there and (even though and I like Curry's version), including Pennywise.

Does anyone call the Carrie viral a lot? I just love how it seems like a legit person when the phone is picked up before... It's pretty cool that the viral calls you back and stuff. It's scary as F.
