Horror Stephen King's "IT" Part I and Part II

Yeah, the more I look at it, it's either a hug with Beverly or a kiss.

I see two people hugging or kissing too, one of them seems to be a redhead so I'd guess either Bev or Audra.

I just saw IT last week ( shocker I know , the wife hates clowns so I had to wait to see it on tv when she wasn't around )
I must say, seeing as i'm not a big horror fan, I was shocked that I really REALLY enjoyed this.
Cant wait for part two.

The only small concern I really have at this point is the chemistry of the adult actors. The chemistry of the kids in Part 1 was fantastic and I want the adult cast to have a similarly good chemistry. The adult actors seem to be having fun together and that's a good sign.

The casting is absolutely perfect looks wise. Couldn't have done it better, however am I the only one who wishes they looked older?. Aren't they supposed to be 40 when they come back to Derry?. They all look like they're late 20s lol.

Eh. Jay Ryan and Andy Bean are on the younger side, but 40 now isn't what 40 was at the time of the original adaptation.

That's merely an illusion based off a lifetime of watching high schoolers played by 28 year olds.

I love McAvoy as an actor, and am really glad that he's in the part, but I have a hard time believing that he'll sound convincingly American and like an older version of Bill. I mean, I know he's played characters with an American accent before (very few compared to his roles where he speaks with his natural Scottish accent), but they weren't great American accents.

I'm not complaining at all, but that post some pages back showing Tobey Maguire had me thinking Maguire might've been way more convincing as adult Bill. Not just physically but also in terms of the voice. I'm sure McAvoy will still be amazing and give the role his best effort, just saying that Maguire probably would've been able to pass as an older Bill with less effort. That said, I'm still looking forward to seeing what McAvoy does, and he's actually one of the most interesting actors in the cast for me. The others look good too but I'm not familiar with them, and I'm not really a huge fan of Chastain—McAvoy, the returning director/crew, and hopefully Bill Skarsgard again (has he been confirmed yet?) are pretty much the only things that will be guaranteeing my ticket purchase.

Skarsgard is confirmed, as far as I know! :)

Of course he is. He was the one actor guaranteed to be in it.

Do we know if Castle Rock will reference this film series at all? I know it's at least tied to Shawshank.

From what I understand, Castle Rock references King's books and not so much the movies based on them, so while I'm sure we'll get references to Derry/Pennywise/etc. in the show, it might be from the original timeline of the book (kids in the '50s, adults in the '80s) and not the new timeline of these films.

Yeah that's what I'd heard. Just wasn't sure since there's a Shawshank movie reference in one of the trailers. Obviously doesn't mean every movie will be referenced of course.

I'm going into assuming we won't see references to It though, just so I can enjoy Bill's performance on its own merits and not sit around expecting some big Pennywise twist.

Would still be cool otherwise though, of course.

Cool. Yeah, maybe the more popular King movies will be referenced then.

Really looking forward to the eventual set pics.

Minor book spoilers:

I was watching the first movie again and I really hope that we get the scene from the book where the [BLACKOUT]Paul Bunyan statue comes to life to terrorize Richie.[/BLACKOUT]

I mean, the fact that they even built the thing bodes well for it.

They have to. Wasn't the Simpsons Treehouse where Lard Lad comes to life kind of a riff on that?
