I haven't been following this film. Is the movie just the part of the story with the kids? Does it go into the stuff with them as adults, or are they saving that for a sequel?

It's broken into the two parts I believe with the second being made, dependent on the success of the first, as I understand it.

is the girl babysitting the boys? she looks a lot older.

I think it's that classic, girls mature quicker than boys thing plus the actor playing Bill (i deduce it's him, in the centre) looks about the same age as her.

Okay that makes sense. I was wondering why I hadn't heard about any casting of the adult characters.

They released a teaser for the teaser trailer?

Don't care, still here for it. :funny:

They're really trying to tease the hell out of us. And it's working!

I hope Geogie is as cute and innocent as he was in the mini series.

It made the winking photo album that much creepier

That really is the key ingredient this film needs, pure unbridled horror. It really needs to be able to scare audiences out of their wits. Horror is one of my favorite genres, and it's been a LONG time since a horror film has legitimately frightened me. I'm hoping this one gives me at least a few jolts.

I am so amped for this. My friends who worked on this have told me if it fails, it wasn't for a lack of trying. They know there's just no pleasing some people or fans, no matter what you do to stay faithful or change for the better. Their main concern was to create something that was as faithful to the book as the time for a feature allows, while being of the best quality they could make it. Everyone involved is a huge fan of the book and want to make the best movie they can.

Tell your friends their efforts are appreciated. :ilv:

But seriously, It is my all-time favourite novel and I think the 2017 adaptation will be terrific. I know everyone panicked when Fukunaga left the project, but everything I've seen/read so far leads me to believe that it was for the best.

I spoke with someone who attended one of the test screenings and he said while Skarsgård's Pennywise is awesome, there will still be plenty of fans who prefer Curry's take. Still, he did say that lots of fans of the book would appreciate what Bill does with the character. I like Tim's take, but Bill being closer to the Pennywise I prefer is music to my ears!

Anywho, regardless of how the film turns out, the cast and crew seem really passionate about this!

With the demographics nowadays who are looking for crazy ass kills, you know the characters all survive to adulthood, but you have to use that psychological horror to unnerve today's audience.

Why, has it leaked? Or are you referring to the fifteen second 'teaser teaser' that was uploaded earlier?

I have been at work so haven't seen what dropped yet but on fb it keeps coming up on my timeline that a teaser trailer dropped today

For the best? What did he have planned?

Love that Teaser poster, can't wait for the trailer tomorrow. Very excited for this one, not a fan of the original at all. Ready for something new.

Did you read the draft that leaked a while back? It's very good for the most part (and there are additions that I hope get carried over), but there's also some bizarre deviations from the source material. Names of major characters are changed, there's hardly any one-on-one encounters with It, and the ending is meh. Apparently Muschietti used it as a template and rewrote it to bring it closer to the book (incorporating the leper, restoring the character names, 'he thrusts his fists against the posts'), so it sounds like we're getting the best of both worlds.

I had no idea the script even leaked? In that case, I'm glad they got Muschietti on board. From everything we've seen it looks to be a faithful adaptation of the novel.

Hmm, I can't confirm it but there were rumors that Fukunaga wanted to keep that scene between the kids which led to difficulties in casting and with the studio.

Funkunga even took out Bill's stutter, which is a huge n-n-n-no.
inorite? Very strange thing to change.

Yup. It leaked a few months back, but it's seemingly impossible to find again. It's like the Internet swallowed it up.

Apparently Fukunaga also wanted an NC-17 to accommodate highly sexual scenes involving the kids. Obviously no major studio is going to greenlight a film in which a pre-teen has sex with a sheep.

I believe the rumor was a scene involving Henry Bowers doing... things... with animals.
