I vaguely remember watching the Tim Curry version when I was a kid.

I vaguely remember being scared ******* by it, further cementing my hatred of clowns.

most likely, I had to detox on Care Bears for 3 days straight afterwards. :o

The bathroom scene terrified me when I was a kid. I was scared to be near a shower drain or a sink drain.

Looks good, I read the book twice, one time just last year and it seems like they've nailed the feel for sure. I admit I'm not one of those that was as much in love with the mini-series. I thought Curry did okay but when I always read the book I never felt that he had a "fun" look to him. But could have just been my interpenetration. Can't wait though that projection scene was pretty tense.

All this IT- mania is really making me want to rewatch the mini- series, but I want to wait until after the new film . I'm sure though they'll re-air it as the new film approaches.

The funny thing is, I knew Tim Curry from Clue and Rocky Horror Picture Show before I saw IT as a junior high student in the early 90s, so I wasn't as freaked out by Pennywise .

Still alot of creepy moments to be sure.

I've had the audiobook on a hard drive for YEARS now, and I've finally started it today. 7 hours in. Only 38 hours to go...

I've watched the trailer atleast five times now and honestly it's starting to grow on me. I really do like the grainy/grimy cinematography and the comparisons to Stranger Things are pretty spot on. Tim Curry will be hard to top in my opinion, but atleast there going for something different this time even if it's the blatantly scary route. I'm also hoping we don't hear him talk until the movie comes out, but I don't see that happening.

He'll atleast have one line in the next trailer.

so, the final spider form. I do remember that from the Curry version.

was that in the book, or was the book version something more terrifying?

In the book really It's form is beyond our comprehension. There is a spider-like form and "she" actually started to lay eggs when they were adults. But if I'm not mistaken It's true form is hard for us to understand so we see it as orange deadlights. I wanna say there was some other form they saw during the end but I can't remember off the top of my head.

It's final form in the book was a giant spider, yes, the closest It could come to a physical form without driving a human being instantly insane, if not dead (which would happen as a result of witnessing It's true form, the deadlights). People generally rag on the last 100 pages of the novel, whereas I thought it was brilliant. Really bat-**** insane, abstract, Lovecraftian, metaphysical stuff. Not something that would translate well to film, though, and the execution in the mini-series was fairly poor.

For those wondering, Bill does have a stutter throughout the film, it does come off more faintly.

Anyone see the trending stats for this? I' know a lot of people that are talking about it, horror movies don't usually get this type of buzz. Warner Bros have to be completely ecstatic with the reactions this has been getting.

thanks.

I hope the spider form comes across as more terrifying than the miniseries, and I hope we get a better glimpse of its "true form."

I wanna see something truly terrifying and ****** up, even if it's beyond our comprehension. :o

Yeah I'm glad somebody addressed that, because that's the aspect I was the most curious about with this film. I am really hoping it's not some ridiculous CGI monstrosity if we do see it. I wasn't bothered by it in the mini-series, but that stuff definitely won't translate well today.

If they change something about this sttory I hope it is the Spider part I just didn't like that at all in the book and in the series it was just ugh. However that be said we don't have to worry about that for awhile. From what I know they still haven't casted the Adults cast yet for the 2nd movie and that portion with the Spider didn't happen till the Adult portion.

If they do show its true form I hope its in a dark setting and just a fleeting glimpse so the viewer isnt entirely sure of what they saw but defined enough so that the viewers get the idea that its something disturbing.

Let the viewer's imagination do some of the work. Dont reveal its true form in all its cgi brightly lit glory.

There's the whole "origin story" with It, the turtle, and Gan. I wonder if that will come up in the movie.

What are the chances that the black blood coming from the faucet will be red in the film, and it was changed to keep the trailer from being labeled a redband trailer?

I can almost guarantee it, as why it's black and not red.

I'd love to see the [BLACKOUT]vision that Richie and Mike have. I doubt it'll be used, but it'd be great to see nothing on earth...then IT, crashing down, Richie/Mike panicking.[/BLACKOUT] That was tense.

Now I wanna read the novel again but don't have a hard copy on me. Plus, that book is quite the commitment. Worth every hour though, what an amazing story.

I really hope they have even quick cuts of the other historical atrocities with Pennywise being a catalyst.

The lumberjacks, the Blackspot, the outlaws showdown, the Easter egg hunt, all that ****! I was riveted by the ointerludes

I have a free book from audible think I might pick up the Audio book to IT and listen to that before this movie comes out.

This thing is a monster - up to 66 million views!

Especially with the creepy clown craze. :hehe:
