I'd like to hear him say "Hiya Georgie".

That video is excruciatingly slow and a lot of those photos have been released already, haven't they?

I totally agree with that article. In addition to the immense interest in the film, as others have pointed out, there aren't really any other major releases slated for September. A lack of competition plus overwhelming interest is probably going to propel IT to far higher numbers than what horror films are accustomed to. I could see it doing Conjuring numbers...or better.

I think it's gonna be absolutely massive

Oh its absolutely doing more than Conjuring, hell i think it has a chance at 100 million opening weekend, it has no competition that weekend and the next.

It's definitely got the September opening weekend in the bag, but I'd be highly shocked if it does more than $80 million opening weekend.

If the trailer views are anything to go by, i think it has a pretty good chance at doing higher, wouldnt be surprised if it did Deadpool numbers tbh.

Fifty Shades Darker had a record breaking number of trailer views and it didn't have an impressive opening weekend. It got beat by Lego Batman. Fate of the Furious had a record breaking number of trailer views as well and while it did have a worldwide record-breaking number, it was just shy of $100 million domestically.

It will be successful for sure (barring unlikely bad reviews), I just can't see it putting up Deadpool numbers. It just doesn't have the same appeal. R-rated superhero movies and comedies have a wider appeal to audiences than horror. I'll eat crow if I'm wrong.

Fifty Shades Darker was a sequel to a movie that was apparently pretty terrible already. I was over those Fast and Furious movies after the 2nd one tbh, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of other people were too. They came out with 8 movies for christake, how many movies about cars jumping out of buildings do people wanna watch?

Lol my bad about that video I posted, I had never seen those images. Especially that one of Georgie with a missing arm. I didn't know they were gonna go that into detail with the kids getting eaten.

50 shades worse was released with zero fanfare, and men/women were dragged to it by their horny girlfriends, or boyfriends. Lego batman was a movie with huge marketing, coming hot off the heels of the ultra-successful Lego movie. Combine Batman & Lego...you got a hit.

IF WB plays their cards right (they won't), and the movie doesn't suck ass, we could be looking at a huge hit.

Let's just wait and see all we can do is speculate. Nobody knows for sure what it will make but right now all signs point to a positive start.

I think higher than 58M is a given, but I'm not ready to say it'll safely open between 80-100M. That seems so high.

I hope it does though.

I think over $50 Million is a given at this point. How much more remains to be seen. We still have 5 more months and another trailer or two to get the hype really going.

I could see this really surprising everyone and actually doing a $100 million opening. Things are certainly building up to be that way.

And even if it doesn't open over $100 million, a $50-$60 million weekend is still exceptional, especially with a $32 million budget.

Anyone got a hold of the latest Fukunaga script draft for "IT"?

I know everyone is talking about an early one, but I heard there're some scans of a later draft he wrote —*with a lot of controversial disturbing scenes —*which would explain why the studio didn't want to let him direct that version.

I heard a lot of weird stuff were included in that draft (seems like he cut Stan's character entirely), but I would really love to read it anyway.

This thing will do at least 100 million opening weekend.

I wouldn't mind reading this either if it's still out there somewhere.

Question for everyone here who read the book; which of the Losers did you like best? My favorite was Richie.

Same. Richie was my favorite too, followed by Ben. I honestly liked all of them except for Stan, but then again he was underdeveloped on purpose.

Richie is my favourite loser. I have a similar sense of humour, and enjoy doing impressions!

I have not read the book in years I think I read it after the TV mini came out. which I have re watched on BR and is still a very decent (at the time) adaptation. Bill has some big 'clown' shoes to fill as Tim will be HARD to top in this.
