^And, more than just that, they clearly look it.

If I look at JGL and Jeffrey Wright standing next to one another, I'm not going to think they went to school together. I'm going to think JGL wrote some nasty s*** about Wright on the boys bathroom wall when Wright gave him a C- in Biology.

Johnny Galecki even is significantly older than JGL.

I think a lot of people are going to be surprised with the caliber of actors they end up getting for this. Barbra has been hinting at Jessica Chastain for bev for over a year now.

Id be happy with Kate Mara or Jessica Chastain. But Ill give whoever they cast a chance before I write them off.

No doubt Chastain would be fabulous as Beverly but I can't help but think the casting for part 2 will be a mixture of different actors from well known A-listers like Chastian to lesser known television actors.

I'm guessing the production budget for IT was around $30 - 35 million so if the film makes a ton of money, I can see the budget for part 2 being around $50 - 55 million.

I hope they go A-list for adult Stanley Uris, so the people who haven't read the book are shocked.

Ehhhh I didn't consider age at all sorry, just people who have a vague resemblance but more importantly would nail the roles.
Let's get some more fan castings going guys.

Btw, the 'kill them all' tv spot gave me CHIIIIIILLLLLS. I'm beyond ecstatic.

I think they would probably go for someone who is recognizable but also likable for Stan. Not necessarily an A list actor but who knows!

Did yall hear about the 135 minute runtime? Personally Im glad if thats the runtime.

Perfect run time for this story. I was thinking today about whether or not this movie can break the mold of 'the horror movie runtime'. Typically any horror movie that goes over something like.......an hour 30, runs the risk of killing its tension which IS NOT what you want to do. But in ITs case I think it's got a lot of potential.
This isn't any ordinary one note Monster, we're seeing him transforming, interacting, he's in television programs! It's a total schmorgesborg of horror. But the thing that will keep the audience engaged is that stellar cast of kids. If the cast is fun that will make all the difference. I mean consider Stranger Things; people are willing to binge watch that show for hours because it moved all over the place and had that stellar cast, kept things mysterious and offered that horror schmorgesborg.
Whoops I'm rambling

Again, who would you cast?

I think this would be a good, and fairly realistic cast:

Bill - Corey Stoll

Mike - Andre Holland

Ben - Chris Pratt

Beverly - Amy Adams

Richie - David Dastmalchian

Eddie - James Ransone

Stan - Matthew Gray Gubler

I think Amy Adams and Chris Pratt are probably too big for a movie like this, but they were the only actors that felt right.

Lol mannn I've already had a nightmare from this shot. I dont what this movie is gonna do to me when I actually see it. I dont know why I love being scared so much, It's a weird little habit of mine, kinda like getting high.

I haven't really read the book in a while but I remember didn't pennywise do that message to Henry when he ws older and in the Insane Asylum?

It speaks to him through the moon.
I could easily see Henrey watching tv and then seeing this message from Pennywise.

Saw the movie tie-in book at the bookstore.

Should I buy it?

It's basically the same Stephen King novel but the book cover is from the movie poster.( George in his yellow raincoat, holding a balloon)

I just don't think I can finish reading it. It's very thick and heavy.

Haven't seen that version, I recently saw a version that's all white and has a clown nose and sharp teeth on the cover. It's all the same text though don't worry. And YES you should buy it.
You've got a month more or less to really dig into it, some say it's a slow burn but I've personally found it to be a page turner. Not cause it's face paced mind you but because it builds tension so well. And the world building is phenomenal.

Oh man that new TV spot is creepy. "Kill them all!"

That's actually a solid fan casting list. Bravo.

However, I think David Dastmalchian would make a better Stan than Richie. Chris Pratt is an inspired choice for Ben but I think he'll probably be shooting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 next summer which is when IT Part 2 would be filming.

I really like your choice for Mike and Corey Stoll has been my top pick for Bill for a while.

Corey Stoll for Bill
Kelly Reilly for Beverly
Scott Speedman for Ben
Bill Hader for Richie
Colin Hanks for Eddie
Andre Holland for Mike
David Dastmalchian for Stan

I personally dont think we will see A-list cast.

I like the earlier idea someone had about going A-List for Stan at least.

Colin Hanks I could see as Bill, I see someone mentioned him for Eddie.

I went with Dastmalchian because he's the one actor I feel has a reasonable resemblance to Finn Wolfhard. Wolfhard has such a distinct look to him. I think Ransone could also make a good Richie, and, personality at least, would be closer than Eddie, but I made him Eddie because he looks like Jack Grazer all grown up. (My earlier post had side by side comparisons, but you can only post 10 images per post.

Maybe Ben Feldman of Mad Men for Richie?
