While I watched Bev , the name that came to mind for me was Evangeline Lilly.

Yeah Lilly would make a good older Bev.

This movie was fantastic and an all around great experience. I loved the kids and their dialogue. Pennywise was cdeepy as ****, snd I didnt notice any problems with the cgi like some other viewers have mentioned. The audience I was with were really into it. Laughed at all the right noments and reactez to the scary stuff well. A bunch of people clapped at the end. I watched it in a 600 seat auditorium and most of the seats were occupied.

The only CGI on Pennywise that jumped out at me was his gnashy teeth, but of course you'd have to CG that.

Absolutely loved this, definitely gonna be seeing this again soon.

Just got out of the theater and I loved it. I am tempted to go see it a 2nd time. The cast was great.

I grew up on the tv movie and never read the book so it was still very refreshing and original even if I knew the basic layout and they still had the same scenes in both for part of the film.

I was surprised that they revealed IT's "monster" side sooo quickly, I was expecting a big reveal later on in the film but they certainly didn't hold back.

Mike was heavily under utilized though, he wasn't really given any real standout moments in the film.

I don't know if it was meant as a easter egg but I think we see a toy that resembles classic IT, I was definitely looking to see if they would do something to honor Tim Currys version.

They need to greenlight a sequel like yesterday, I don't want to wait 2 years to finish it!

They are fast tracking the sequel, but it will still probably be 2019 before its released.

I'm seeing it again tonight with a packed crowed this time.

I might watch it again in theaters. It was sooo good. :hmr:

Just got back, quick thoughts cause I'm about to eat.

10/10 I absolutely loved this film. I thought the blend of lighting, practical FX and CGI all looked great and worked very well. So much heart with the losers club, the kid actors all were wonderful. Pennywise, brilliant performance by Skarsgard blows Curry's out of the water. I believe this Pennywise especially for myself is now a horror icon. This film itself is a classic for the genre IMO, I'm beyond excited to see what they do for part 2 now.

I'm usually more screeped out by specific characters in films but i haven't been that terrified of a character since i first saw Pinhead when i was 6. This Pennywise will do definitely go on in horror legend imo.

I also have to say the kid who played Bill nailed the stutter. As a chronic one myself I recognized all the little tics and attempts to hide it.

Whoever ends up directing the sequel should consult James Wan on how to do as much as possible without having to utilize CGI. Overall I was fine with the CGI in the movie but I felt there was plenty they could have done naturally.

I thought myself they handled it wonderfully and they mixed the cgi, practical and the lighting very well. IMO. But anyway I'm pretty sure Muschietti will be back in the directors chair.

My theater lost it at that line. :funny:

My other favorite:

"These are just GAZEBOS!!!"

My two favorite lines from this movie both came from Richie and they were
"Do only virgins see this ****" and "This mothereffer is leaking hamburger helper" LMAO!!!

Finn Wolfhard really is a foul mouthed little **** in this movie, and while a character like that usually isn't all that likeable I have to admit he had me and my audience laughing pretty damn hard. I know he was in Stranger Things, but I never knew the kid had that much range.

There were so many lines I loved, those ones you guys mentioned had me cracking up :funny:

This seems to have turned out really well, glad to see everyone digging it.

The CG enhancements work fine. The only downside to them is that they allow less time for Bill Skarsgard's pure performance, which is next level great. It's such amazing work.

Easily the best experience I've had watching a horror film with a crowd in a cinema since the first Paranormal Activity, despite my issues with that film. Had a few folks yell or scream at certain points in this theater. Great buildup and tension with fantastic payoff scares, believable acting from the performers- though I imagine Mike was safer in Hawkins than he was here- and a constant sense of dread. Having not seen the original, Tim Curry IT, I am curious in seeing that now.

And side-note, glad this film did address how much Bev looked like Molly Ringwald when she cut her hair. That was my exact thought the moment we saw the finished product.

The kid who played Georgie deserves major props too. At first I thought they were just going to play him up being a cute, creepy little kid, thankfully they utilize him better than that. I never cried, but I was quite surprised how emotional his scenes were with Bill, especially in a certain scene towards the end. I got to admit I almost teared up a bit.

I just heard a group of folks at a pop warner football game raving about this movie and several said they'll be seeing it a second time after the game lol. Its such a well made movie with plenty of thrills and scares. If it weren't for the language, I could see a lot of parents taking their kids (who amI kidding? Some will anyway!)

This will have serious rewatchability deep into October.

There were a lot of parents with kids at my showing. I guess they figured it was ok since it starred kids. But good luck getting some of them to sleep tonight....

Despite this being one of the worst summers at the box office in quite a while, Warner Brothers has actually been putting together quite a year. I believe two of their movies (WW and Dunkirk) account for almost half of the total summer BO numbers.

And now It looks poised to be a major breakout hit.

I guess they didn't look at the R rating lol. Mine had some kids in it as well but I watched the OG when I was kid and countless other horror movies so more power to the parents lol.

I really hope they cast Bill Hader as the older Richie. That would be genius.

EVEN though I think Andy Samberg looks more like Richie, Bill Hader was destined to be in IT chapter 2. Funniest actor to come out of SNL since Mike Myers.

Hader can do drama too. I don't think Samberg can do anything but his Samberg shtick.
