I don’t think it will do huge business. The original doesn’t have the nostalgia factor that warrants a revisit.

IT grossed $29.757M this weekend. 17-Day total stands at $266.096M.

I expected 'IT' to go under 30 million and not make it to a less than 50% drop this weekend but still

Nao Gravity has the distinction of the biggest ever 3rd weekend of the fall season just edging out 'IT'.

I understand where you're coming from but I'm not too upset by this. IT is still in a league all its own and imo, that's good enough. It's going to make well over $500 million when it's all said and done, and that is absolutely amazing every way you look at it.

Heh, I'm stanning for the BO of 'IT' from Day zero. Pretty much all of my posts here has to do with the 'IT's BO. I know absolutely amazing 'IT' is doing so far. Nobody follows these things as closely as I do and I've become quite greedy so much so that a small difference of 277k is bothering me, lol.

'IT' is going to make 615 million world-wide and that's one of my rather pessimistic projections. 'IT' along-with Deadpool and American Sniper are the 3 best BO runs IMO. All of these movies punched way, way above their weights and smashed all kinds of expectations and then some. These movies are absolutely on a league of their own.

#ITmovie sequel gets September 2019 release date http://thr.cm/5IGbDj

So 'IT' part 2 will go head to head with the Blumhouse release slated for same date.

It's great that WB/NL didn't budge and set the record straight. This is the spot that Pennywise built and he's coming to get ya !!

I do think that it's too soon tho. WB should have waited till 2044. :o :o

Sweet. Can't wait to see what they cook up for Part 2, considering all the changes they'll have to make.

Oh, I follow these things extremely closely too so I know how you feel, so when I initially saw it dipped slightly below $30 million my original reaction was to be disappointed, but the fact that it's done such phenomenal business bypassed it.

I'd honestly love for IT to pass The Sixth Sense worldwide. I'm betting the film can make it to $600 so even if it doesn't pass TSS, it'll still be an unprecedented run.

Blumhouse will move. No way they think they can release another horror film with the sequel to this box office powerhouse.

Really eager to see that Chapter Two casting roll out.

Skarsgård isn’t unattractive IRL, but I can’t say I’ve ever found either Pennywise sexy.

Bill's nice, but if I'm banging one Skarsgard, it's Alexander every time.

I went in, probably largely due to the director connection, thinking Jessica Chastain for adult Bev, but after actually seeing the actress at work, I may actually have an easier time imagining her growing up to be Amy Adams.

Yeah, IGN has a solid suggestion list with Amy Adams in the role, but the director has even said he wants Chastain. I'd say unless she says no for some reason, she's pretty much a lock.

Well, you're in luck because that's definitely gonna happen but in another project. Sophia Lillis is going to portray the younger version of Amy Adams in the HBO series 'Sharp Objects'.

But

Do you have any ideas for actors for the kids as adults? Sophia (Lillis) does kind of look like your “Mama” star Jessica Chastain.

Andy: I don’t know, does she? [Laughs] Jessi is an amazing actress and very good friend and I would love her to play Beverly.

Barbara: She also loves this movie.

Andy: Yeah, she loves the movie and it feels like the planets are aligned in that sense, but we still have to make that happen. There are a lot of ideas for the rest of the cast that I’m playing with, but it’s a bit too premature to say those names right now.

If Chastain's schedule is clear, the role is her's to lose. I think she's locked to play the role of adult Bev.

It's an untitled movie. Most likely in the early stages of development. The movie doesn't have a director or any principal cast member attached to it at the moment.

Yeah that would be the equivalent of release date suicide. No way do they stay there.
