What did they describe "IT's" final form as? I honestly don't remember, or did they at all? How do you really visualize "pure evil" anyway? Not as a giant spider, that's for sure. :o

You keep it as a Giant Spider because it's supposed to be a Giant ***** metaphysical spider in the story.

Design and framing is key.

saw this 'fan poster' on another forum, I totally see Jessica as adult Beverly, even the actress who played teen Bev said that is who she would love to play adult Bev.

Chastain is absolutely my pick for adult Bev. She's perfect perfect perfect.

Fox's KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE is #1 as it swipes the top spot from WB's IT--$16.935M vs $16.902M.

But what a photo finish to cap off the weekend tho. I mean the top 3 looks like

1> K2 - 16.93 million
2> IT - 16.90 million
3> American Made - 16.77 million

All of them are really close and and K2 just about manages to beat IT to the top spot.

Indeed. I thought IT was going to keep the number one spot for sure.

On another note, I wonder if this has enough gas left in the tank to surpass The Sixth Sense. Guess we'll know by this coming weekend.

I picked up the Pennywise Funko Pop...it goes great with my book:

I think this will show good legs as Halloween approaches. I think this movie will mange to make $10 million this weekend.

^Possibly but they also got that Death Day and the new Jigsaw coming out. They're gonna try and ramp up the horror this month.

Even with competition incoming I think IT should hold up pretty well. Plenty of people that likely want a double or triple showing so they'll try to fit all of them in just for the Halloween season.

On Wednesday 'IT' crossed 'The Sixth Sense' to become the highest grossing horror movie of all time. 'IT' is also falling behind Deadpool in dailies but still keeping pace with the overall multiplier at the end of the 27th day (2.38 x OW). Will start falling behind Deadpool this weekend tho as BR2049's OW will provide stiff competition and also take a good chunk of the 'R' audience from 'IT'.

Agreed. I don't know much about Death Day, but people eat up Saw at Halloween, and since they've had a few years for a breather, it might do gangbusters. That said I still think IT will do ok. I can't believe the legs it's already had. This is beyond impressive. I'm really glad to see some of King's material actually being made properly. Too bad they **** all over Dark Tower, or they'd have been 3/3 with IT and Gerald's Game.

IT grossed an estimated $19.8M internationally this weekend. International total is $298.8M, global total is $603.7M.

Actuals for the 5th weekend are in and both the domestic and the OS weekend increased from early estimates. Domestic increased from 9.66 million to 9.97 million (+3.2%). Which means 'IT' is keeping pace with Deadpool at the end of the 31st day. That's extremely good.

OTOH, the OS weekend increased from 19.8 million to 20.1 million (+1.5%). Was hoping for a bigger increase so 'IT' would have crossed the 300 million OS threshold but the hold is great. The German 2nd weekend was 6.5 million so that's an awesome hold (-40%). Even if we subtract the German sophomore weekend from this weekend and drop it's OW from the last one, 'IT' will still manage an amazing 49.5% hold against another 'R' rated world-wide release (BR2049). 'IT's 5th OS weekend is 40% of BR2049's OW in almost the same number of markets. The staying power of 'IT' is unreal.

World-Wide figure is [305.2+299.1]=604.35 million. So 'IT' broke the 300 million domestic and the 600 million world-wide barrier at the same time. 'IT' is nao 2nd in the list of highest grossing horror movies of all time behind The Sixth Sense after overtaking I Am Legend (585.35 million).

Next target is I Am Legend's OS final tally of 328.95 million. Should go down very easily with the existing markets and on top of that, 'IT' still has Italy and Japan left to open.

It dropped only 41% last weekend. As Halloween approaches, the declines will continue shrinking. I think this weekend we will see it make $6.5 million, a sub 40% decline.

1.43 million on Monday. Got a boost from the public holiday (Columbus Day) on Monday. If 'IT' manages a decent Tuesday bump with discount tickets and all, 'IT' can potentially stay above the 1 million mark for 38 days in a row. Will match Ted, Wedding Crashers & Deadpool in number of consecutive days above 1 million since debut but will be behind The Hangover (52 days), Passion of the Christ (48 days) and Bridesmaids (45 days) when it comes to 'R' rated fare in the 21st Century.

How much money does everyone think IT will end its' Box Office run with? Hoping for around $700 million at least!

For 'IT' to reach 700 million from the existing markets, the movie will need to make a further 95.6 million after the global 5th weekend.

The global 5th weekend was [9.9+20.1] = 30 million.

The high profile remaining markets are Italy and Japan. 'IT' most likely won't find much of a purchase in Japan. Maybe (2-3) million. Even that is quite an optimistic scenario. But Italy can be wild card. 'IT' may breakout in Italy like it did in Germany and to a smaller extent in France. But I'll remain cautious at the moment and assume 6 million for nao.

So 'IT' will still need [95.5-(6+2)] = 87.7 million in dollar figures and a 2.9 multiplier from the overall 5th weekend. Both are highly unlikely to happen.

However a more realistic and feasible target would be The Sixth Sense's final world-wide tally i.e 672.8 million.

So 'IT' needs a further [672.8-604.4] = 68.4 million after the global 5th weekend to pass TSS.

Subtract 8 million (the outta the thin air projection from from Italy and Japan) and we get [68.4-8] = 60.4 million.

So 'IT' can stake claim to being the highest grossing Horror movie ever if it manages 60.4 million or so from the holdover markets. Which means we are anticipating a 2.0 multiplier from the global 5th weekend. Both these circumstances are very much within the realm of possibilities.

Yikes, totally misjudged Tuesday. Sully and Mag 7 held better last year. Should have seen the big drop coming. Columbus Day effect was big on Sunday and Monday. Early number for Tuesday is 880k so the actual will hover around this mark. 1 million+ day streak ends in 32 days.
