I still say Jessica Chastain is perfect inspired casting for adult Beverly.

Sophia Lillis bears a heavy resemblance to her in my opinion. They'd be stupid not to jump on Chastain for adult Beverly.
She looks and sounds way more like Amy Adams.

Adams and Chastain would both be fantastic, but we have no reason whatsoever to think Adams is even being considered, whereas Chastain is a very real possibility for the part.

I'm just pissed that we aren't getting the extended cut on this release which probably means one of three things.

1. WB canceled the release of an extended cut.
2. The director misspoke when he said there would be an extended cut.
3. WB plans to release the extended cut later on to get consumers to buy the movie on home video a second time.

4. Some of the yet unseen material could still find its way into the second film in some fashion.

Yeah. I mean, we're in no position to turn someone like Chastain away, but I really did get a lot more Adams off this girl than I anticipated.

For me it was the scene in the street, after the fight with Eddie's mom, when they have that big blow up. It was like I was watching Amy Adams. It was strange. :funny:

There is zero wrong with Jessica. A fantastic actress, who I am a fan of. But ever since seeing the movie, I have Adams firmly in my head.

Yeah, I don't see it. Same hair color, but that's it.

Yeah, I'd definitely say she looks WAY more like Adams than Chastain.

Or they could both be. In the book, Bill's wife resembled Beverly somewhat.

I wish and hope they cast Jason Ritter as one of the adults losers.

His father, the late actor John Ritter played one of the adult losers in the 1990 tv adaptation.

I say make the movie 25 years from now and cast the same actress.

I hope we get an extended 'full' version (1+2) of a combined cut on home release when both have done their cinematic runs. I know I'll wait for this version before buying separate versions, either as cinematic or extended versions intended for home release.

Final B/O figures...what an effort off a 35 million budget.

Domestic: $327,481,748 46.9%
+ Foreign: $370,100,000 53.1%

= Worldwide: $697,581,748

On top of those deleted scenes...now we learn that the Director's Cut will re-insert those deleted and extended scenes. Will be awhile, though. So, at least for me anyway, may as well wait for that cut.

Mind you, the home video release will be packed with eleven Deleted/Extended scenes, including an alternate gag opening, but what about that promised extended cut?

We reached out to Muschietti on Instagram earlier today, asking him if that planned Director’s Cut was still on the menu. “Yes, but in a few months,” he replied.

Alright, it's the new year, gimme some of that Part 2 casting.
