what's way off course?
you spoke to the fact that a mostly
Muslim country should be peaceful and I pointed out that strife over in the middle east has nothing to do with Islam but with radicalization of Islam, and that this is rooted in politics.
Then why was that woman being prosecuted for naming that fricking teddy bear Mohammed? Thousands of Muslims said it had to do with their "RELIGION"! They are wrong and you are right??????
you will have to excuse me if I need clarification on the part I put in bold, what does me getting "Mexico in the right direction"have to do with any of this? now it seems that you are the one "way off" ( mostly because you don't have a leg to stand on) because I never spoke of the direction your country of the Islamic countries were going, so you bringing up a completely unrelated issue to this merely underscores the fact that again, you are a reactionary moron.
My legs are fine thank you.
Oh no.....I'm right on the money. You are the biggest critic of Christianity and its influence in western culture. But yet, whether you acknowledge it or not, you are one of its biggest beneficiaries. America, a nation started on Christian principles continues to Yet you keep defending these countries with all these human rights attrocities. Why is that?

LOL, No I don't see anyone prosecuted for blasphemy, heck I even put the fact that in the 1950's ( that's about 50 years ago) the supreme court stepped in.
my comment was on the fact that if indeed the Christian values were the ones guiding the founding fathers ( as YOU said not I remember?) you would have to answer for the fact that slavery was only abolished a hundred an forty two years ago, and that a hundred years later minorities were still treated like trash. why national women's suffrage only came about 80 years ago, yet you talk as if the fact that you did it last century under much more favorable circumstances that most of these cultures is some sort of indication of superiority.
Hey, guess what?? The ship eventually righted itself, did it not??? Those countries keep getting worse...not better! Why did we get things right? Because biblical principles work when applied. The teachings of Christ showed that you could not have slaves. Abolition was a "christian movement. Slavery is still being practiced in the Sudan by Muslims...TODAY!! And the concept of freedom came through because the foundation was strong. So inspite of the missteps, the Judeo-Christian principles of freedom worked it out. I know that burns you....
it's not Slim, the mere fact I have to point that out, the mere fact that you have to keep talking about how I should fix things in Mexico before talking about this, all the while people in your country starve and die and remain jobless and hopeless while you do nothing but complain about Islam.
in a country that is NOT YOUR OWN no less.
is testament yo your extreme and baffling hypocrisy.
People starve and die everywhere..... Poor people exist all over the globe. Even in America. But I find it funny that your people keep sneaking across our border! Why are they trying to sneak into such a horrible place as the USA? Because they understand better than you, that if you work hard, if you are honest, if you are smart with your money, you can make it in America. People have a "chance" here!
seeing as Christianity is about 700 years older, it's really nothing to boast about.
and to say that the accomplishments of western civilization come from Christianity is very height of delusion, since if you knew anything about the same religion you happen to be so fond of, you'd know that it is responsible for the same type of inhuman bull**** you so deride "the other team" of doing.
I don't know what History books you're reading, but criticism of the Church and Church officials were not viewed upon with kindness.
infact, we just went over the fact that Blasphemy laws were only repealed by the supreme court of the US in the 1950's.
you're not that dense are you?
You keep living in the past because you got nothing in the present. Our ship righted itself. You keep going back to the 50's the 1800's because you know that you're weak on your argument. I can open a newspaper today and find another human rights attrocity in the middle east. And the freedoms that our system of living afforded scientists (many who were Christians or theists) allowed them to explore for the break throughs we enjoy today. The car, the airplane......did those come from the western world or the great middle east? It was the west that taught them how to drill for the oil they have.
plus, you keep going on these tangents that you think are going to help your case, these little unrelated flights of fancy that merely make you look like a bigger idiot than any post before it.

ahaha! ok slim, take a breather.
this is something you often do,and I have seen your kind of people do all the time, oddly enough, and sad too, is the fact that almost always they happen to be "conservatives"
you say something that makes no sense, then cite an unrelated example and then ascribe an outrageous position to your opponent.
the politics are steered by the religious system NOW, the radicalized religious system that is a fruit of the politics of the region.
if you had any knowledge, if you had ever studied about the middle east, any minor knowledge would've done.
you would have agreed that the radicalization of Islam comes from the politics, from the situation being lived by the people there, not from the religion itself.
Then why is Islamic law always cited as the reason for this or that? Why did some guy have to flee pakhistan because he became a Christian? Why is Mohammed cited in the teddy bear thing? Why is a cartoon of Mohammed setting off fires and riots all over the world? Why is a 19 year old girl punished and the rapist is not? You cannot usurp Muslim law in those countries. It permeates every frabric of their lives.

LOL,
I love it when someone that follows the outdated 2000 year old teachings of a man long dead tells me to "keep living in the past" that makes me laugh, it seriously does.
it's also funny that you ask me for the contributions of Islam in the last 100 years, but I won't be hard pressed to ask you for the contributions of Christianity in the last 100 years as well.
I love it too. Know why? Because they are still working TODAY!! His influence has made us stronger over the centuries. So it is still relevant! You see the benefits of a system influenced by Christian principles of freedom and equality all around you. Again what has come out of the middle east?
this will be fun.
on a side note, that has to have been one of the most idiotic question you have ever posed "
the contributions of Islam in the last 100 years" if you knew anything about the contributions of the golden age to astrology, philosophy, mathematics and medicine you would IP ban yourself out of shame, but that requires you to have two working brain cells to rub together, which you sadly don't.
There you go with that "golden age" crap.
t: Get back in your time machine. Why did it all crumble??? Now the manics want to destroy us because WE "are" living the "golden age" that they were promised.
hahahaha! the idiocy! I'm sure the Roman empire "had no substance" as well huh?

LOL, thanks for making my point for me.
it's not yielding the same things because the surrounding political sutiation has changed and shifted.
DUH! same
reason the Spanish inquisition doesn't torture people anymore! because the surrounding political situation is different.
is it that difficult for you to understand that?

There we go into the past. Open the newspaper...a 54-year old lady ...a fricking' teddy bear! Does that register in your mind, at all?
haha, I like when people get lofty and then misspell a simple word like "versus" you should "save your pennies"and buy a dictionary you old pathetic fool.
And I like it when jerks lose it and start going after misspellings.
now, and this is key, I'd like you right now to point out the part were I say I agree with the situation over in the Middle East.
hey, you know what?
I flat out challenge you, I'd like you to look through this thread and point out the part were I say that the living conditions in the Middle East are better than the US or Mexico.
You don't have to say it! Your condemnation of anything American and your high praise of middle eastern systems speak volumes!
if you find it, then that last part, the part in bold means something.
if you can't find it then your post is nothing but the ramblings of a sad bigoted fool that preaches only the parts of Christianity that he likes and ignores the
whole "remove the beam from thy own" part whenever he feels like it.
Funny...that's the only verse most people like you remember by heart. Simply because you don't want to be held accountable for anything. So no one can "question" anything.....and nothing could be further from the truth of that verse.
that talks trash about Mexicans all the while highlighting the benefits of the Christian philosophy of "love thy neighbor", not to mention the fact that you are definition of "prideful" you think because you follow the teachings of Christ you will live forever in paradise, but you only follow them because you like to feel better than everyone else.
Pride is a sin Celldog, one of the seven deadly sins.
I don't trash Mexicans. I trash your system that oppresses it's people. Your government that is so corrupt that it keeps it's people poor! So poor they feel a need to leave their own country at all costs! You must be one the realllly wealthy over there.
yeah, this one is pretty damned Ironic.
