Maybe I'm just being paranoid and impatient but WB's silence on the future of the franchise has me a bit worried. Maybe they are just waiting to see where this thing finishes before making announcements, but I would think after week 4, its financial success trajectory is pretty clear to them now to help them determine how to move forward.

Then again, it took Marvel several months to announce GoTG 2 even though we all figured it was a given. I just hope WB doens't wait that long. t:

I wouldn't be worried. Numbers like this without even China's help make it hard to argue against a sequel. And arguing against sequels isn't exactly any studio's default position in the first place.

Hello all. Thanks for the support, I've received many PMs instructing me on how things go around here. I truly was not aware. Even though I signed up back in 2007, I think my post count should indicate I'm pretty much a novice user, with little to no knowledge as to how things work here. I was given insight as to the original moderators feelings about certain things and have determined that while my posts at the time did not appear (to me...and perhaps others) to be out of line, clearly they were and for that I apologize. If I were WB I'd wait till SS hits 700M and rub it in the face of the hyperbole critics (not legitimate ones of course, but the ones saying "it's the worst ever" etc), and announce a sequel and a Harley Quinn movie at once to show confidence. But that's just my wish list.

Anyway I wouldn't be concerned right now, it makes a better press by hitting 700M AND announcing your sequel (s).

Yup, and WB/Nolan refused to cut the scenes to enter that market and I applaud them for that.

TF4 showed the liberal army helping TF to save HK, so that's the stuff they want the most.

It was just Karen, Will and Margot at one of the Japan premieres.
Multi-cultural cast being used pretty well in this push. If only they were big stars in their own right(ala will/margot), that would have been gnarly.

Well forget China, DCEU don't need China . I'm still salty they dropped BvS from 75% of it's screens second week. If you don't call that a shaft, then I don't know what is.

It's funny how this huge fact never comes up in write ups about that films WW total. You have these other films adding 200plus mill from there..

WB needs to crack this market if it wants to hit the numbers it's supposedly supposed to hit. Can't do avengers 1.5 without 200plus from china imo. Unless you are starwars I suppose.

OK I know its at $630 but I don't see $700 million happening. Therefore their drop the mic moment should be now; or even when it did $500 mil. Or maybe I'm just a vindictive woman who wants WB to drop kick someone.

Be patient my child, it will do 700M, I estimated 650-700M over 2 weeks ago and I AM WRONG, too low! I got 720M now, and Blitxkerrxyz boy got 708M and he's conservative as hell

But since you really want the drop mic moment I think 300M DOM could be a good option too, that's a lock now.

I do not believe that to be true. I seem to recall seeing the date for GotG2 the day I saw GotG. I may be wrong, but don't think so. Marvel KNEW they had something going on with GotG.

All that being said, I think a SS sequel is a done deal. Man, could a JL SS thing down the road be cool? WB, use your imagination.....

Would be interesting to see how the movie fares in Japan. Could be a surprise package there I feel with its aesthetics and style. Only seeming competition is a live action movie adaptation of a popular anime/manga the following week.

it's possible but i just can't see that happening.
$15m should be considered as huge success for the movie like this in Japan.
