Suicide Squad: General Discussion and Speculation - Part 1

I like Robin's idea about Joker holding all of the detonators in his hands and then playing Russian Roulette with the Squad's lives. He doesn't need to be on the team for that to eventually happen, though.

Nope, definitely doesn't need to be a member of the team.

The rest was just story ideas I would like to see, but wouldn't be disappointed if they went any other way.

But a scene with The Joker holding the Squad's lives in his hand with a game of Russian Roulette is a must in a film that includes both The Joker and a team of villains with bombs in their heads.

I can see him as a Lector type, locked up, but he's being consulted with because he may have some information they need, or (my preference, because I would like to see a lot of Leto in the film) would be Joker as a third party spoiler working against both the Squad and whomever they are going up against.

I doubt they'd included Joker just to keep him locked up. But 3rd party spoiler? Right up Joker's alley. Perhaps he'sjust be ****ing with the squad to free the villians? Or just Harley?

My only hiccup with the idea of The Joker being a "Hannibal Lecter" type villain, is why would anybody in their right mind count on him for information/insight, even if it came down to desperation?

Waller isn't stupid. The Joker is too much of a self-serving wild card to be reliable. She would have to know that he would only cooperate and actually be helpful if he had an ulterior motive. So the "threat" the Squad is sent in to take care of would have to outweigh the risk of The Joker escaping for Waller to chance it.

Doomsday? Would make sense if Supes dies in BvS

Here is a nice little breakdown of the history of the Suicide Squad. [YT]2JqL5s6wCgA[/YT]

I just watched Fury, absolutely loved it.

This movie is in great hands with David Ayer.

Logan Lerman would make a fine Tim Drake.

It really was a tense and engaging piece of movie making. The track record Ayer has with the characterization in film's he has either written or directed speaks well of his ability to make SUICIDE SQUAD something really special in the world of CBMs.

If you really want a feel for Ayers' Suicide Squad, the better movie to watch is Sabotage. All of Schwarzenegger's team mates were despicable characters except for Sam Worthington. Even Schwarzenegger himself wasn't exactly clear cut "hero"

there is definitely crazy in his eyes :)

I never in a million years could thought that Jared would be good fit for Joker... That's why casting directors know their job. Awesome.

I wonder if they`ll change the title to Task Force X for promotional purposes.

There are too many xmen movies out there for this to be called task force x.

Suicide Squad sounds ballsy and has a cool ring to it. Besides, they're already calling it "Suicide Squad" in the press release.

I hope not. "Suicide Squad" sounds very strong and on-point. Subtitle would undermine that effect.

If The Avengers are called the Avengers, instead of Retaliators or something else, then why Suicide Squad wouldnt be called Suicide Squad. Does people have problem with word "suicide" but they dont have with "avenger", which meaning taking someone taking vengeance....

Eh suicide has a much stronger connotation. But it needs to remain as the title.
