Will Smith as "Deadshot" just irks the crap out of me. The man can't act. And I can't get past the ears. He is not tough enough. Bad Boys, Men in Black etc...I don't buy him as an assasin. Sorry.

He does have acting chops...unfortunately he is offered/only takes roles that don't particularly show it off.

I never understand looking at an actor's past roles to see if they can play a new role. I don't believe he has ever played a tough guy or an assassin. You don't know what someone is capable of until they are given that chance. I am sure people watching Bosom Buddies knew the breadth of Tom Hanks' acting ability.
It reeks of people saying Heath Ledger can't be Joker because he was a gay cowboy in a movie.

I never understood that. All Brokeback Mountain should have shown anybody was that Ledger WAS a good actor. I don't understand why it counted against him. Well, I do, meaning people being homophobic idiots who can't distinguish between actors and characters, but A) most of the other people in Nolan's Batman movies have done gay roles at some point, including Bale, Hardy, Caine, Oldman, JGL, etc., and B) The Joker's not exactly the most definitively heterosexual character ever.

Bombs planted around Gotham and the SS finding them in time sounds so cartoony. I would expect the movie to be a bit more complex than that.

I don't buy it. I guess someone have finished Assault on Arkham and decide to make a little scoop

Will Smith can act and is capable of getting in very good shape. I think he'll do very well and at worst sell a good number of tickets by himself.

If Ayers can pull off a script like TRAINING DAY or END OF WATCH for SS and get a performance out of Smith the way he did out of Pitt in FURY then for sure most people's quibbles will be erased once the film is seen.

I'm a bit surprised that there are quibbles on Smith. A natural action guy with proven acting chops and a big name. This is his shot to get back into the big time with a top performance in one of the cinematic universes so I'm sure he's going to be giving it his best.

It would actually go in line with all those recent remakes that tend to change things just for the sake of it.

Maybe it's me, but it seems to me that a lot of people still see Will Smith as The Fresh Prince/MIB/Bad Boys jokey guy, but my favorite roles of his are from Ali, 7 Pounds, and I Am Legend (movie wasn't great, but he was really good in it). The man's got the chops in my eyes, and I think he'll nail this role. Out of all the DCU films, Suicide Squad is the one I'm most looking forward to, and the one I have the least worries about.
