I guess someone should make a terrible light-hearted comic book film for critics to switch their cans.

That was basically what WB told Schumacher to do after Batman Returns to dark criticism.

we've had the 60's Batman (and recently Brave and the Bold was a good light hearted Batman) and the Burton/Nolan gritty/dark Batman. It's about the execution.

What happened to the people whining about the tattoos? Nothing to say anymore? They love everything Ayer is doing now?

No, there's still plenty of people who still don't like them.

There are no guarantees, but if I like the movie, that's what matters to me, I don't care about critics that seem to think all these movies should have the same tone or forced, dumb juvenile humour to work. Nolan was lucky they didn't care back then, Tim Burton was not so lucky with Batman Returns:

So, now dark is out again and fun is in... till critics change their minds again!! That's how people work, they just get tired of one thing after a while, it doesn't matter how good or not the object actually is. People are fickle!

Critics have not changed their minds because they've never been against it.

Batman Returns didn't get a critical backlash for being too dark. It got a parental backlash from the audiences about being too violent and disturbing. So much so that McDonalds pulled their Happy Meal tie in promotion with the movie. Faith Daniels on NBC even did a piece on it on TV called 'Parents against Batman Returns';

That's why WB retooled the Batman franchise into a lighter more child friendly tone with the Schumacher movies. They were afraid they'd lose their audience.

The critics have never had problem with dark and serious tones for comic book movies or movies in general. That's why the likes of the TDK trilogy was a huge critical success three times in a row. When it's done badly, like with BvS, that's when they hammer them. Not that that was the only flaw with that movie. Just one of many.

Every trailer has to spoil parts of the film. It's neccessary I'm afraid.

I might be satisfied with the first trailer, but some people will need that extra scene from the 2nd or 3rd trailer to buy a ticket.

The humour has been there from the first trailer, but the last two have more, that's all. With characters like Harley and the Joker, the humour was always going to be there no matter what. The three trailers have been good, I prefer the first two though.

The movie should get decent reviews because it should be fun enough for shallow critics, but some of David Ayer's movies have bad reviews:

There'll be always other factors in judging a film than good/bad filmmaking.

So as you said, the important thing is that you enioy it.

That's why I'm happy I got BvS. And it seems I'll be happy with SS even if it got a similar backlash.

Started what, dare to state my thoughts on the trailer.
Correction: Said will watch it because of Will and if reviews are good on cam. Harley wasn't part of that. Should read people's post before misquoting it.
This is public form. I had my say on a product but I know some fanboys just can't accept differing opinions. I remember people attacking me the same the one or two times I responded to BvS trailers on that forum. I guess I had the last laugh about that.
