Again, either role could be be interchangeable between the two IMO.Hi everyone, a DC fan but unfortunately i know little about suicide squad - so this weekend will be doing my home work. A question though, will the characters mentioned be working together in the 'good guy' role against a far greater threat?
Also, after seeing the joker brilliantly portrayed in the nolan trilogy, is it wise to show case this new chapter in a 'good' light so to speak - therefor when we next see him, we will have this movie in mind and he won't seem as 'evil'?
Just asking as a newbie keen to learn more
Some of the characters in the film, but not all of them, will be in the Squad, as such they'll carry out missions on behalf of the government against bigger villainous threats. The Squad isn't a nice, cozy family, though. Most of the villains working for the Squad are doing so out of self-interest and remain bad guys at heart themselves.Hi everyone, a DC fan but unfortunately i know little about suicide squad - so this weekend will be doing my home work. The Joker probably won't be on the Squad itself. He'll likely still be an evil, scary character. Also, after seeing the joker brilliantly portrayed in the nolan trilogy, is it wise to show case this new chapter in a 'good' light so to speak - therefor when we next see him, we will have this movie in mind and he won't seem as 'evil'?

For myself, by it's very nature the Squad lends itself to darker and more mature subject matter. I mean, the comics I read as a wee lad were all over the map in terms of tone and subject matter. Late 80's/early 90's comics were boundary pushers in terms of content and in comparison to the stuff with Lawton and Harley in the comics (ugh... That clown car quip double entendre) their Yahtzee moment was kind of tame. Besides... Harley Quinn is a sex object for fanboys, as you can tell by the design she has in the comics now and in the Arkham games. It's a huge part of her appeal (an appeal which, granted is totally lost on me) and isn't surprising they would use her character in such a way. The Squad stories were never really meant for the really young type of fan anyway. They are a long way from your average episode of BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES, that's for sure, dealing with assassinations, corruption in government, Middle Eastern politics, the Cold War ect... I can't fault any adaptation that keeps that in mind. These are violent stories that are very much in the wheelhouse of black comedy. Plus, these mini movies DCE is putting out are clearly for the older and die hard fans. That's my view.
