So is elmaybe friends with hardy or his agent? Because otherwise how the hell would he know? There is like 5 people who would actually know something like that

As I said in the other thread, I don't buy that the cast signed on without seeing a script. They could actually still be making revisions at this stage. Not wholesale rewriting, but fine-tuning. That's common enough. If Gyllenhaal is confirmed as a replacement then the part obviously hasn't been significantly downgraded.

Yeah. It's well-known that Will Smith is meticulous about scripts. The script for the movie Hancock went through like 10 rewrites because he wanted to make so many changes. No way he signed onto this thing without reading a script.

Exactly. Even just considering Gyllenhaal tells you the part isn't downgraded.

And with neckbombs and WB ninjas around them. So I don't think they would be able to talk... like.. at all...

Jake really transforms his roles, we have to take that into consideration.

And I will just leave this here...

That's like almost a 9-pack, at least 8,5.

Anytime you join a film and the Joker is one of the other characters...you know you are not the main event

What do you mean?

All anyone talked about after TDK came out was Batman.

Obviously not going to believe Ehmaybe, but I wouldn't be surprised with the focus on Deadshot thing. As I said before when Hardy first left, Smith gets people in to change his lines, I'm sure he is being paid the most and so will probably eat up screen time, again pointing out the fact he rejected Django, because he felt Django wasn't the lead. And maybe Hardy signed up to be the lead.

And i disagree that definitely they would have read a script, these CBMs are tight lipped and I'm certain a bunch of Marvel actors have said they signed on without seeing much of the script. They probably got basic outlines of the story and character they were offered.

Right now Smith is not in position of asking the best lines nor the best moments. His career was on standby in the past years np matter if I like his acting and I really enjoyed most of his movies.

Something you need to take into consideration is that Deadshot RIGHT NOW is one of the leads and the best of the Squad and Smith shouldn't being worried about that. He's not the main guy though. this is a Squad and that's the thing they knew before signing. Hardy before signing he most likely saw what Rick Flagg character was about SINCE THE BEGINNING!

I just don't see Hardy leaving without something from Ayer without a really big reason (schedule is on my head only, because it was from a RELIABLE SITE) neither someone as Jake G. being eyed for a remplacement for this same role taking into consideration his past roles.

The other news, right now are just controversy looking "news".

Probably there are more reasons combined... The Revenant filming should finish mid-March, Gyllenhaal's Broadway play should finish mid-March so?? Plus that argument 'he has to promote Mad Max'... well, MM is Warner Bros' movie. And let's be honest Rick Flagg is not the most interesting character around so if WB want more screentime for Deadshot and The Joker... no surprise, really. Then you've got Jake Gyllenhaal - few months ago one THR article mentioned that Jake wants some comic book movie now after all those smaller, dark films he worked on lately. Plus he knows Ayer very well.

Anyway I'd love to know who's rewriting / polishing Suicide Squad. After Terrio I really hope WB hired another top writer... I mean The Joker deserves only the best.

The focus on Deadshot thing probably has less to do with Will Smith and more to do with him being the main character of the franchise for almost 3 decades now. I'm more inclined to believe that Deadshot was the main character and they cast Will Smith than they cast Will Smith and all of a sudden Rick Flagg wasn't the main character anymore.

uh yes he probably will be...

Other writers could be uncredited like Kurtzman & Orci - Watchmen, John August - Iron Man or Scott Rosenberg - Spider-Man 2002. Happens all the time. There'll be another writer, maybe two or even three to polish SS. I'd bet everything on that.

This is a big, big franchise movie. There'll be script doctors, production writers etc. If you really think Ayer will write and control the whole thing... NO.

Ayer wrote End of Watch, Fury, and Training Day.

Stahp.

The use of script doctors is common, but not ubiquitous.

But of course... some of you guys know everything. It's like with El Mayimbe... when his scoops fit what you want he's fine. When not... he's the worst. Classic fanboys. Cool.

I don'y pay heed to Latino Review, whether they say something I want or not. Ayer won't have complete control of Suicide Squad. If he came up with something the Warners brass didn't like they'd have him change it. But that doesn't necessary mean the involvement of a script doctor. Sometimes it's as simple as the writer/director getting and responding to notes.
