I don't think it's the final cut. There are probably missing scenes.
I think if anything is the fallout of BvS its this.
They may have cut down some of the quieter/slower moments so that it can have the fun and fast pace.
Remember this movie was supposed to be a dark character study, but with twisted humor.
However, if I'm being honest if the 1hr 50 minute version is the best "theater version" then so be it.
Its about putting out the best product. Can watch the extras on Blu ray.

squad shouldn't be over two hours imho. it's not an epic, it's an action/adventure movie with super heroes. quick cuts, keep it moving, and leave them wanting more.
Quick Cuts, editing that jumps over different locations, different characters, scene transitions in a rapid succession is jarring, it won't make fans or the reviewers happy.
It's also not in Ayer's style.
i'm actually kind of pissed that
bats apparently won't have that much interaction with the joker.
yeah, no matter who played flagg i'm not sure the character would allow for anyone to turn it into a favorite or break-out type role. while he's the heart and soul of ostrander's squad, he's still the liason to waller, and therefore, the authority figure of the group. he's the straight man, and everyone else in the movie gets to play off him.

Suicide Squad's weakest links were Will Smith and Joel Kinnaman.

Both were kind of "meh" while everyone else around them were so much more interesting than them.

@CommentEr1987 He was great. *Jai*
FWIW, I've seen other people say Will Smith was one of the best parts. I think its more Will Smith being Will Smith so it depends on if the audience is ok with it or not.
I've heard nothing about Joel outside of this. He's not the actor Hardy is, but I'm glad Hardy didn't waste time on a not so memorable character.
Yeah, I'd say this is the case.
And I must say that I fall in the latter category, not being entirely okay with Will Smith playing himself once again in this role. Only reason why it doesn't bother me all that much is because I don't really care about Deadshot and it is somewhat justified by the fact that they're seemingly going for a different characterization than the apathetic, suicidal version from comics.

pretty much how i feel about will smith as deadshot as well.
Yep, read its more 70s Deadshot not the 80s Beginnings version.
That would result in low RT ratings and it would be disatrous for the movie -
1. David Ayer's main skill is to focus on his characters, without that, it just turns into a Fast and Furious wannabe movie.
2. The main problem Critics have with DC movies is that the characters are not developed enough and there are few quieter moments that put focus on the story.
I'm not sure how well I'll respond to the Batman solo, though, if that "The Good the Bad and the Ugly" (my all time favorite western by the way, partially due to Eli Wallach's very amusing and enjoyable performance) rumor is true. I like the concept, but Smith "being" Tuco... I'll probably be meh on it, at best.
This would make sense... not that I'm particularly familiar with the 70s version, but it certainly seems that it's not the 80s one. Did he ever have a daughter in the comics, by the way? I know that he had a son that got killed.
The Tuco stuff is still just a rumor at the moment.
I just mentioned it because of Deadshot having the most scenes with Batman and how Will Smith mentioned at the MTV awards that he'd love to see Deadshot in Batman's solo movie.
