There was word about a screening in London. This guy is from the UK, so could be legit.

Interesting.

Good sign or bad sign that we haven't seen many tweets about it?

Or maybe people in London honor the NDA more :o

Imagine him vs. Batfleck in the solo movie. :hmr:

I do fear that Leto could be great, but his look will too distracting for others to truly enjoy it.

Oh well, the look doesn't bother me.:o

Yeah, it is still bothering me a little bit.

Yeah, it is still bothering me a little bit.

I get it.

While people were going crazy over Ledger's performance it took me a while to accept it because of his look.

I just wanted classical Joker. Not the hobo, smeared lipstick look. However, once I got past that I got to enjoy the amazing Joker performance.

What happened with Heath's Joker is why I'm more accepting of Leto. Not saying he'll be as good. Just more accepting of different looks.

My reaction to that first Ledger photo was: what the ****??

I changed my tune when the marketing really got rolling.

My biggest thing is that, in some shots he looks decent but for the most part he just looks like Jared Leto cosplaying as a very pale gangster Miley Cyrus.... Make of that what you will but.... Yea..

He just doesn't scream Joker to me. Infact if he didn't have the green hair and I had no clue who was in this movie then I wouldn't know who the hell he is. There isn't much of him that resembles the Joker in any iteration. Look I'm all for experimenting with a characters look a little bit but this is still too much. Even Ledgers Smeared hobo paint resembled the Joker better. The tats, grillz, flashy cars ect just feel like a *****ey vanilla ice and not so much like the Joker. I'm trying to get over those few little things but they're distracting as hell.

Literally digging through Twitter and Facebook and see no mentions of any new screenings

Come on, no resemblance whatsoever? Out of all the iterations, Leto’s has easily taken the most out of his character’s vast backlog of wardrobe and accessories. Someone even made a whole compilation detailing each connection we’ve seen from the little footage thus far.

The perma-white face, red lips and/or purple coat wouldn't tip you off?

Come on. You know this isn't true.

Is a purple sports car really that far removed from having your face on a helicopter? The Joker is known for marketing the **** out of himself.

1. I would hardly call this Joker "Perma White". He's more pale than anything, and I'm not referring to his clothes I'm fine with his outfits(sans the bat pants) but when he's shirtless, take away the green hair and he just looks like a pale drag queen with a lot of tats.

And in my honest opinion he just doesn't resemble the Joker to me in really any iteration. I guess if he were close to any Joker then it would be New 52's Joker but that one is such a freaking mess all around.

But I'll give you the "Marketing himself" point. However it just seems to me that the goal of this Joker was to make him a "Sexy and cool emo kid" to appeal to the Hot Topic crowd and it shows. With a splash of Riff raff thrown in and we have our Joker.

I can assure you that this wasn't the goal. Why? Because David Ayer didn't sit around pondering the preferences of the Hot Topic crowd. He just prefers a more street-level design.

Yes, and that's the problem for me. I know that the Joker was sometimes portrayed as a gangster of the times but doing that here just takes away from the character in my opinion. I don't see the Joker working on his abs or sitting down for hours and hours to get tattooed from head to toe. I don't think he would wear earrings and gold chains. He has always been flamboyant for sure but this is just too much.

And the biggest thing for me is that The Joker has always been a lone wolf, someone that is so radically different from all the other criminals and now.. What separates him from let's say a member of the Latin Kings besides his green hair? Not much.. The Joker shouldn't look like some gang member that decided to dye his hair and wear lipstick. It doesn't fit for me, and don't get me wrong I'm still excited for this film but Ayer made a mistake taking the look this far away from the source material.

I can understand your position. Don't get me wrong, if I'd been in charge of the design this is not what I would have done.

You're thinking too far ahead right now. It's not just his looks but his behavior and personality that set him apart. We can't judge that until we've seen the movie.

Agreed, his performance seems great so far and if they get that part right then that's what matters but all the rest still kind of takes me out of it. Nevertheless the movie looks great and man I hope there is atleast one confrontation between Bats and Croc.

nice to see creative covers that aren't the usual standing character portraits
