We really wasted a lot of time thinkingcharacter was something special in this movie..Scott Eastwood's
I hate how WB/DC are secretive about characters that turn out NOT to be DC characters. Such as Scott McNairy and possibly Jena Malone in BvS. Just a waste of guess work..
), Jena Malone, etc. They would cast some actors in roles without telling which role it is and the speculation would begin. That's what happened with Scoot McNairy (who was believed to be Flash at some point), Jena Malone, etc.
They didn't really try to keep it a secret, they just wouldn't come out and announce every role.

I know Scoot McNairy was doing interviews saying he wouldn't tell his wife what role he played. He seemed afraid when talking to the media about his role.
Scott Eastwood said WB specifically told him to not reveal his character. He said fans won't see it coming.
Sure we were in the wrong for assuming so much. However, the interviews just added to it because it seemed like there was some big reveal.
Welp. I've learned my lesson this year.![]()

I was there. People clapped in the end, but definitely not everyone. When they announced we were getting shown the movie in the beginning, much, much louder yells/claps. Still, I would say the majority of people liked it.
It was good. Didn't particular care for some important characters/relationships, so if you end up liking that, you would enjoy the movie more.
I assume that both of those cases have to do with that whole disclosure thing all of the actors have to sign. As I see it, the policy is "you don't talk about things that weren't already officially confirmed", which includes roles themselves as well. It doesn't necessarily mean that the role is significant or that the studio is being deliberately coy. Though they might like some speculation going on.
And as it happens Eastwood was right, fans didn't see this coming.![]()
I wonder if they were at the screening.

Its kind of interesting that we never hear a thing about Rick Flag.
Is the character just not that important or Joel just not bringing it to that role like Tom Hardy would have.
I guess if Flag isn't interesting I'm glad DC didn't waste Tom Hardy on that.

Suicide Squad's weakest links were Will Smith and Joel Kinnaman.

Both were kind of "meh" while everyone else around them were so much more interesting than them
“She’s got my back. We have a history but it doesn’t really get explained.”
Flagg has a decent role though. Definitely would see why Hardy would have signed up for it.
I've seen people say Will was meh. But I've also seen people say Will was one of the highlights of the movie.
I haven't seen one good thing about Joel.
I'd say the 2nd person criticized the most has been Cara. A few liked her, but others not feeling it..

This pretty much sums up the plot?fan made

Well, Cara Delevingne as your main villain is just meh. She was in Pan and probably WB executives thought she's the next big thing because of her popularity. Nothing new. Honestly I'd just cast some strong, experienced actress, someone like Eva Green.
