The scoop please? What did you like, what didn't you like, etc. :yay:

You too Chip.
Well, what I didn't like was once again DCEU's messy editing/story telling. Too much exposition and too many flashbacks to explain things and the story was very thin. It's a big mess. The reason I'm positive on the film is because of the characters/performances. Margot Robbie is terrific and perfectly cast and so is Viola Davis. Will Smith is really good and fun as Deadshot. At the very least the film didn't bore me like a certain other film this year even though it was messy. I liked the Squad's interactions and there should have been more downtime for more of those interactions to happen. I liked the film's tone and personality. There was actual levity in it. At the end of the day, I had fun with the film.

About Leto as Joker: No honey, just no. Somebody should have beat him and told him to stop.

I have to disagree with all the Leto hate. Maybe it was collective excitement (my friend and girlfriend next to me really liked him) but each time he'd come on screen I was hooked.

The Joker should never be divisive. That was their mistake..

Heath and Jack (I know he gets some criticism, but still much more positive than negative) have very high regard from fans.

Leto is the first one who seems divisive. I see the movie tomorrow. Maybe I'll love his Joker, but man that was not one character I'd thought I'd need to defend.

wow..

I don't know how to feel about that since Joker was initially my main reason to see the film. However, that points to just how good other stuff are in the movie.

Rate the movie without Leto and rate the movie with Leto: The Joker edition :sly:

7.5 without him

I can't give you a number rating with him, because nothing would seem too low

The positive reviews of him see him as a modern day Cesar Romero Joker.

Just thinking about that combination (Cesar was great..but think about that Joker in this age of style, dress and attitude..) and I can see how some don't like it.

Romero doesn't get the credit he deserves for his portrayal. Both him and Julie Newmar really pioneered how future interpretations of their characters would be.

the joker thing is individually based at this point. my friend wanted to know when the joker&harley movie was coming out because she loved him and them so much.

That's exactly what my girlfriend wants. I semi-assured her we'd get them again in a SS sequel and maybe both in a Batman movie and her response was "no, why can't they do a Joker and Harley movie?"

I really liked #SuicideSquad! I think the general audience is going to love it. It's a ton of fun. Way funnier than I thought too!

My only major issue with #SuicideSquad is the terrible villain and CGI at the end. But besides that, I was into it the entire time.

I really enjoyed this movie and would give it an 8.

So strange hearing people aren't liking Leto's Joker. I naively assumed that character was impossible to screw up.

If anyone could do it its the DCEU. The only consolation is he isn't getting the levels of hate EisenLex got.

Smith was good to my pleasant surprise, Robbie was a diamond, Jai has finally found the role for him. Diablo was great, I wanted to see more Katana. Flag was there but had a few moments. Viola was cold as ice... Perfect.

Slipknot lol

So I guess I'm going to be one of those people who liked Suicide Squad. Those are my initial feelings anyway. Maybe I'll change my mind in the future.

I was expecting to hate it honestly.

Me too. I have issues with the movie, editing-wise, but I enjoyed it flaws and all. The lead actors (save Leto) made it for me, especially Margot Robbie and Viola Davis.

Marvel have always been careful with their expenditures, to the point of being cheap.

Since they booted Ike Perlmutter, they've been willing to spend more -- but not by much.

guess i'm gonna go see this this weekend after all. glad to hear everyone's enjoying it.

My friends and I all seemed to have e felt this way. Liked it, thought it was funny, don't get the nasty hate for it but acknowledge its issues. Lack of Leto really disappointed too.

How about Enchantress working those dance moves? :P

I just saw the movie as well and I totally agree with your review. The movie was not bad at all. Sure there were pacing and story issues, but its characters have LOTS AND LOTS OF POTENTIAL!!!!! All of the characters are interesting and acted well!!!! Especially DEADSHOT! I don't care what the critics say. This movie deserved 52% for the lowest, not 29%! That is crazy!!!!

27% now.

I'm watching Arrow's Suicide Squad S2 and I'm finding it more enjoyable than what I just saw in the theater.

Really wanted to like Suicide Squad..

Tempted to watch Assault on Arkham but I feel that's just gonna infuriate me like I was after I watched DCAU's "World's Finest" after BvS.

The template was literally there for WB to just adapt those to live action and they would be raking in the money, and critical and fan praise.

They have the perfect actors for Batman, Harley, Alfred, And probably Gordon..... How could they get this so wrong with Joker..... I'm devastated you guys

If Leto is to be in the Batman movie, can Ben beat a better performance out of him.

I agree that Jai Courtney has finally found his perfect role. *****ebag Aussie.

What a relief to hear your responses guys, if this is any indication to the GA reaction, we could see a very pleasant turn around

Good, good. I am happy you enjoyed yourself. Means you aren't giving up on WW. We also have similar taste, so that is good for me. :woot:

And yeah, that is what I have feared from Leto.

How did your brother enjoy it? :yay:

It's cute that "terrible villain" is a real sticking point with this movie. Just about every villain on the other side of the fence has been terrible, bar ONE and it's glossed over each and every time, or shrugged off as unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Even very recently in Ghostbusters (2016) where the villain was absolutely horrible AND acknowledged as bad in reviews didn't really affect the overall score...

It was again another thing I went into the movie thinking negative ***** about before seeing it and even though she wasn't great, and was, I guess a bit boring, was still more interesting to me than a lot of villains in other CBM's.

He made me laugh in the trailers. I didn't think that was possible. That in itself was a miracle.

I gotta say this if #SuicideSquad was called #FastandFurious it would be 80% on rotten tomatoes

Smith was good to my pleasant surprise, Robbie was a diamond, Jai has finally found the role for him. Diablo was great, I wanted to see more Katana. Flag was there but had a few moments. Viola was cold as ice... Perfect.

Good thing the movie isn't rated high. Will would have fought to get Jaden in the DCEU :sly:

I still don't know why Snyder doesn't put Davis/Waller in Justice League.

My brother and sister loved it.

I liked him a lot.
