for those of you who haven't seen it yet, there's going to be a scene towards the start of the film with Harley that will greatly please you. It's only a few seconds long, but it absolutely stole the show for me and I'm still thinking about it.

Glad to know that Spidey liked it. That gives me some hope. I agree with her on a lot of movies. Seeing it at noon tomorrow and hoping for the best.
Calm down Rows. SPIDEY and I won best pair last year. :oldrazz:

Because they are a comic book movies fan? Because they are action adventure fans? Because they are the fan of any various actor in the movie?

I suppose that's not fair of me to say. Apologies

Except we did. Just look at Ghost Busters and Tarzan. One was liked by the critics but not the general audience while the other was liked by the general audience but not the critics. Guess which one is a success financially? :)
Ghostbusters wasn't really liked by the critics. They were just afraid of voting against it because "anyone who doesn't like it is sexist."

I care about a lot of these characters and want to see more of them, I think.

Will might have played Will Smith, but I see it similar to RDJ playing RDJ. He made the character his own and it worked.

How was the Batman/Deadshot scene? No spoilers.

But they aren't Superheroes

I know, but the movie is drawing a strong negative reaction.

Think positive man. If nothing else, Batman will be around and a lot of these characters belong to that universe. Also, WB doesn't have a lot of properties right now. It is why they started the DCEU in the first place. They will just keep trying I think. As they should. Look at the hype for SS and WW. People want them.

Yeah but, at least for me, I don't care for this interpretation of Batman. And even if I did, I think I'd still be annoyed that WB seems to think shoehorning him into everything is the way to fix their problems.

This is worse case scenario Rows, and I doubt that. When SS makes 800m WW, everyone is going to be wondering what they were worried about.

Just got out a bit ago. Audiences laughed when they were supposed to laugh and seem to really enjoy the movie. It was a bit weird in how it was edited together and I'd have loved to see some of those scenes more fleshed out, but still ... made for a very unique first 30 minutes or so.

Will Smith and Margot Robbie stole the show. I used to love Will Smith so much, so this was such a nice surprise. Margot Robbie is just ridiculous. There is just something about her on screen that makes you be unable to take your eyes of her. (yes, I know what it is) Harley is gonna be so huge in whatever they put her in down the road.

Jared Leto ... didn't hate him, didn't love him ... I think I do want to see more of him though.

The villain is the worst part ... it's really bad, but again, the cast is charming enough that by the end I was able to forgive it.

7.5 or 8/10 for me.

I'm not trying to claim false modesty because I am awesome so not very modest but I am always surprised to see some of you actually care about my opinion.

You can shoehorn batfleck into My Little Pony and I'd eat it up :o

I didn't really think much of it, but it did a good job of showing Deadshot's as well as batman's human side

would be cool for him to maybe have a cameo or short role in Ben's movie.

That's why WW will be the first DCEU movie to be critically acclaimed. :o

I SEE SPIDEY, the master of the humble brag. :woot:

Wait, you're calling for $800 million?
No, but at least $650m. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if it did it though. This movie is going to open big and if it has any real legs, $800m would be a cake walk.

But they aren't Superheroes

In the article...she starts to call them superheroes, then corrects herself and calls them villians. The writer knows the differences between hero and villain....it's just a title that draws people in.

I'm happy to hear that Will Smith was a standout. I grew up loving the guy and seeing everything he was in (well, almost everything) so I'm excited to see his performance if nothing else.

800M will be tough to reach, considering Mexico's second largest theater chain won't screen the movie and China will most likely not screen it either.

Anyone know if the film is at least better than this?

Here is the thing, a lot of people do enjoy those movies. Why? Because DC has this incredibly large fanbase. As a kid who grew up watching Donner, Burton and Timm, who loved reading about Clark, Bruce, and Wally I get it. I am a DC fanboy. I sat through years of Smallville. Even if a lot of people do not like these movies, DC have an incredibly large fanbase. It is why TDK and TDKR broke a billion without 3D.

It is why even with all the divisiveness of MoS, BvS and potentially SS, they make a lot money. Now they spend a lot of money too, but that isn't the point. It is actually incredible when you think how many people know Harley. How many people love the Arkham games. DC is pop culture.

I get that. I am one of them. I grew up with these characters and a fan of a lot of product DC puts out there. However, being a fan is a two way street. DC has to continue to earn my fandom. There is just too much great other stuff out there for me to just give them a pass. Why should I support them when they do stuff like what went on behind the scenes with this movie? Fandom has to be earned and I just don't understand blind fandom.
