Well the proof will be in the pudding(pun intended ) next weekend, thats for sure.

Not really. We just need to wait for the opening Weekend numbers and look at the numbers individually to see if the movie has legs. BVS had significant drops between Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Lots of my non comic book loving friends from work are planning on seeing it. People are telling me it just looks fun and that's what I'm hearing from you guys. I'm predicting this will perform MUCH better than BvS

DC did it. I don't know how they did it, but they did it. I didn't think it was doable, but goddamn they did it. They managed to make Batman V Superman look like a goddamn masterpiece by releasing Suicide Squad. What in the sweet hell are the exec's at DC thinking?

First of all Suicide Squad is one of the worst edited films I've seen in a long time. The pacing in this movie was abysmal. It was absolutely atrocious. Second of all I don't know why they though that putting together the plot they did made any sense. The want to assemble the Suicide Squad to take down a member of the Suicide Squad that went rogue, but the editing made it seem like they were assembling before the **** hit the fan sooooo........? What the ****? And then when the **** did hit the fan the movie came to a screeching halt and we had the scene where everyone was suiting up. The pacing was like riding in a car with a student driver. Punch the gas, then slam on the brakes. Punch the gas, then slam on the brakes.

Worst of all is the Joker. I love the Joker and they made his character completely pointless in this movie. Take him out and you have the EXACT same movie. No difference. In fact, if they removed him they could have made room for some genuine character development for the people we were supposed to give a **** about. If this is the kind of dreck DC is going to be putting out I sincerely hope the movies keep failing with critics. I hope that they stop what they're doing and correct course because so far it's been garbage all around.

This film manage to do something that BvsS couldn't do..........make me feel something for a few of the characters. Loved Deadshot as it was nice to see the Will Smith from about 10 years ago make a return. He really does wonders with the role.

This tries to be a fun film as compared to the dark and gloomy Bats/Supes fest but ultimately falls short of being anything unique that stands out in the genre. I was expecting a better take on a group of antihero misfits saving the day. All in all I thought it was a decent film. Joker did very little for me but its clear he's not really the focal point but rather a set up for another DC film down the line. Story was bizarre and to be honest quite lame. Certain characters are the saving grace for this one.

Still waiting on DC to establish that one film that can shine and become an instant classic in this current cinematic universe. 3 films in and it feels like its still trying to find its footing. Hopefully WW can change things around. It looks like a great film from the trailers. But I have been fooled before...........

Oh I'll take this movie over BVS easily.

At least with BvS I didn't feel like I was watching half a movie. Suicide Squad really feels like they cut an entire hour out of it. Batman V Superman was a wreck no doubt, but Suicide Squad feels like it was edited by a High School music video aficionado. I'm certain there's a good version of Suicide Squad out there. It felt like maybe all the parts were there. Unfortunately what I saw was such a poorly edited pile of garbage that we'll never know.

BvS TC is garbage, I will never watch that version again in my life. They literally cut out scenes that explain the story

Odd thing about this movie is people who hated BvS love this but those who loved BvS hate this. Of course there are those who hate both or love both, but it seems that there's more of the former.

Yeah and some of us hate Frank Millers take on batman some of us love it. Pro New 52, anti-new 52.

Different strokes for different folks

I'm baffled by the exclusion of Lex getting caught by the swat team. It was only a few seconds long and the look he gives really sells the idea that his psyche is definitely compromised. ANNNND it's probably very important to the Justice league plot

Put me in the camp that thinks both are dumpster fires.

There is one huge positive both films have going for them. So far I'm head over heels for Afflecks Batman. He has such power and presence. Bats has been the best part of both films. I think that might even be what's shooting DC in the foot to a slight degree. Imagine if Nick Fury was the highlight of every Marvel movie. It'd be frustrating. I think they should have done the solo Batman movie BEFORE Suicide Squad. That would have felt much more natural and I think Suicide Squad needed a little more time in the oven anyway.

That's funny because I'm completely indifferent to affleck. I think he's been too wooden in the role. No intensity, just going through the motions.

I can understand that feeling. We needed another superman movie before BvS. We really just need WB to chillax. They seem like a nervous wreck

At least I didn't leave the theatre feeling depressed and wondering WTH I just watched like I did with BvsS. The more I reflect on that film the more I dislike it for various reasons. SS isn't a huge upgrade by any stretch but it left me looking forward to the next chapter unlike BvsS.

Yeah I absolutely agree there. A proper Superman sequel should have been priority with a Batman movie to match. You bring them together later in a more organic way. The movie would have been better for it. Suicide Squad should have come further down the way as well.

I loved every scene he was in, putting away criminals. Wonder if people would've paid for a 2 hour version of that. I certainly would.

The 2 second shot of Quinn in the jester outfit with Joker in the tux was glorious.

I think the first half of this movie is quite messy. A lot of exposition, poor editing, weird camera effects. Like the effects they did with Joker, and the zooming in on that one guy that Deadshot is about to kill, and the freeze frame and name logo for each character, it was all too cheesy. I felt like the first half was directed by a first time director. The movie finally finds its footing when they start the mission. It's kind of repetitive on top of that too. I'd give it a 6.5/10. I enjoyed the Ultimate Cut of BvS more.

WB seemed like they were too scared to be called out for copying marvels formula. They're just so scared of us, I don't know why. They should be listening to us instead.
I actually like the setup they're going for in MoS and BvS (haven't seen SS yet) but I just don't like the execution.

Affleck doesn't have all that much range but he's never genuinely awful IMO . I think we really need to see him in a solo Bat film to see where he stands. Everyone saying he was the best Batman ever after BvS I think is overpraising him, both Keaton and Bale got far better material to work with.

It's the same problem for BvS and Suicide Squad. Trying to introduce too many characters, each with massive histories, just in the span of 2hrs+. Comic geeks don't suffer as much because we automatically fill in the info in our heads. But the GA is inevitability going to suffer.
