This isn't a "make-or-break" moment but can someone explain how the rest of the team was waiting outside the elevator once Harley had beat those goons to a pulp on her way up, even though we saw her already several floors above them on the ground floor when they realized what she was doing? Did they take an even faster elevator, or did they all sprint up the stairs at inhuman speed?
Obviously this is a nitpick, but it just struck me as an editing/staging problem. They wanted to get in both comedic moments (the team seeing her well on her way up the elevator, and the team looking at her in awe as she steps out) but it makes no sense.

He's too charismatic for that. Even in Man On Fire Denzel was too likable. There are three things the audience should feel for Deathrstroke. Hate, pity, and "damn that was badass"!

So I finally saw this movie today and my overall thought was its an average movie. First let me start with the positives:

+ The leads were all great Will Smith Viola Davis Margot Robbie Jared Leto
+ Fun action
+ Style
+ Batman Flashbacks
+ Good soundtrack

The Negatives:
- The Plot was too simplistic and felt like a been there done that kind of film
- The villain. I found Enchantress weak and laughable with her dancing
- Joker being in the film for a short time
- Other characters being pushed to the side.

Overall I didn't enjoy the movie but I didn't hate it. It definitely has its ups and downs. The movie could have been better executed with a better story. From the trailers I thought the Squad was going after the Joker who had stumbled on Kryptonian technology and the Squad would be sent in to take Joker out. I also thought it would have been cooler if we could have seen Batman around keeping an eye on the Squad.

They really should have taken inspiration from Assault on Arkham for the storyline.

Really ? I thought it was part of the reshoots. Maybe you are right. It does connect to the overall plotline because of Harley and the mobile phone.

People still buying the reshoots for humor? David said at Comic Con 2015 that the movie is actually hilarious. I think it's quite clear the reshoots were to add some more Squad scenes and ending bits the film needed them after having to cut out a bunch of stuff the test audiences didn't like.

actually, I think the re-shoots were to change the direction of the movie, and compensate for all those joker scenes being cut, for whatever reason. re-shoot helicopter scene, the final battle without joker.

Watching this, listening to the haunting version of "I Started A Joke" by Becky Hanson... I want to see the movie so bad. But as Ayer really intended it. I like the up-beat version we got in theaters, but I feel there's a truly great, eerie movie out there that I'd absolutely love.

Be careful criticising this film in here, some people take it very personally and will probably call you biased or try to bash you given the scores you have in your signature. Or some will just post a gif of some kind when they have no arguments haha!

Mazouz goes on to explain what made him enjoy the film the most were the characters:

“You love them. They were bad guys, but you love them. And that is something that we do on Gotham, if you look at someone like the Penguin. Any other incarnation of the Penguin that you see in the comic books, he’s evil and just kind of this… and in Earth One by Geoff Johns, I’m thinking about it because I just read it, he’s this mayor, and he’s just evil. He’s bad. There’s nothing redeeming about him. He’s just a bad guy. But with Gotham, you like him. He has redeeming qualities, he cares about his mom. And Robin Lord Taylor kills it, but you know that you’re doing something right when you’re rooting for the bad guy. He’s a terrible, terrible person. He kills people with absolutely no regret. But you like him”

On watching Ben Affleck’s Batman on the silver screen:

“I think my first initial reaction was not to judge it, but to observe it, as an actor. Like, what can I do?,” said Mazouz.

“Going into Batman v Superman, I was like, I’m about to watch something, I know that he’s going to be playing the same role that I’m playing, and I kind of went into saying, ‘I want to watch him and see things that I like that he brings to the role that maybe I can bring to the role.’ And I tried doing that, but I mean, he did such a great job that it kind of took me out of it. I totally forgot that I was Bruce Wayne. I was like, that guy is Batman. He’s pretty cool. I just became a nerd. I just became a fan. I tried, but it didn’t really work out.”

Watching this, listening to the haunting version of "I Started A Joke" by Becky Hanson... I want to see the movie so bad. But as Ayer really intended it. I like the up-beat version we got in theaters, but I feel there's a truly great, eerie movie out there that I'd absolutely love.

It really is remarkable how gradually the marketing for this transformed from a somber, darker film to a more zany, punk rock romp. Some posters on here have showed the evolution of how the 'SS' logo changed from last year until now and that itself makes it blatantly obvious how the film's tone has changed behind the scenes.

For the record though, I think WB had the right impulse to make this movie a zany punk rock action film....they just did it way to damn late instead of at the SCRIPT stage!

This movie had a few twists I did not expect after watching the trailers.

I just wish Katana was 'one of the bad guys'. To me, she didn't seem part of 'the squad', cause she wasn't. I guess when she had drinks with everyone, that's when she 'become a player'. I just wish she was locked up at Belle Reve with everyone else.

I just like seeing Katana in action. Overall it was a good movie.

Yeah Katana suffered the most IMO. Especially since the character might not be in a DCU film in the near future.

1. Does it seem like Waller knows Bruce is Bats? I got that vibe. Especially since he seemed to be announcing to her that he was gonna create his own meta group which would make Task Force X obsolete (ergo she should "shut it down").

2. If Waller has files on Aquaman/Flash, why is she not trying to recruit them? You know, since they're more powerful than anyone else on the Squad.

3. Did anyone else get the impression that Boomerang won't be part of the squad in the future? Since he didn't get any favors, was in trouble at the end?

I figured the opposite. Because he was such a dick to Waller he's guaranteed to be in the next one.

Besides if we're going by the comics the core characters of Suicide Squad are Waller, Deadshot, and Boomerang.

2.Because she didnt have any leverage over them.She doesnt believe in friendships,she believes in manipulation and leverage.
