Deadshot vs. Deathstroke MUST happen in the sequel. Must.

Who do you want as Deathstroke?

If Ayer is back I think he could bring in Brad Pitt.

I don't why keep thinking of Stephen Lang when someone mentions Deathstroke.

Anyone think he is a good fit?

I know he wanted to play the role of Cable in the Deadpool sequel. Seems thats unlikely.

I wonder if Lang might be a tad too old for the role of Deathstroke. Great actor though.

I heard they might be looking to get Kyle Chandler for Cable.

As for Stephen Lang, a little hair dye and he will look 50 only a few years older Ben Affleck. And they aged Ben Affleck in BvS to be older than he already is.

Pitt works, Damon works especially after the newest Jason Bourne. Gerard Butler works. Basically anyone who can play a stoic, self loathing, unapologetically ambiguously evil middle aged badass.

I think we need an A list Actor for Deathstroke..

I'm glad DC didn't waste Tom Hardy on Rick Flag. I thought Joel did a good job, but the confrontations between him and Deadshot would have been even better if it was an A list actor. Again glad they didn't waste Hardy on that role, but I kind of got what Ayer was going for with Flag.

Deathstroke needs to be someone who won't let Will Smith dominate the screen when they're in a scene together. The same for if he were to be in a Batfleck movie.

My choice would be Sean Bean but Bratt Pitt, Jim Caviezel, Gerald Butler, Liam Neesan, Stephen Lang, Tom Hardy (if they go a bit younger) would all be good IMO. Mads Mikkelson & Karl Urban would have been on the list too, but... Marvel. But I think Sean Bean would be great in the role.

Oh I would pay good money to see Sean Bean as Deathstroke.

I've been watching a lot of YouTube spoiler reviews of Suicide Squad the past couple of days (Jeremy Jahns, Chris Stuckmann, Kevin Smith to name a few) and on a lot of them that I've watched, a complaint has been more or less "So Amanda Waller wants to put together a crew that can fight off a threat with Superman-level powers or greater....we have Deadshot who's got precision aiming...okay...we have Diablo, who can turn to flames and basically incinerate anything...okay...we have Killer Croc, who's a giant lizard man with superhuman strength and is virtually indestructible...okay...next is Harley Quinn, she's crazy and she has a baseball bat....huh?......and then there's Boomerang, who's pretty crazy himself and his thing is that he.....throws....boomerangs. Yeah."

I mean, they do have a point. Why would they think that Harley Quinn or Boomerang would really be effective against something like, say, Doomsday? But I think it's a nitpick in the grand scheme of things. I can look past it. You might as well ask why the Avengers need Black Widow and Hawkeye.

well hawkeye and widow were shield and it was the leader of shield to put the avengers together so they were "in house" talent.

well they went too big for the suicide squad they need to find the perfect balance of not too big where you would need superman and not too small where batman can handle it a perfect middle ground

and to be fair they beat the villain because of harley quinn a non metahuman due to her conniving misleading attitude where enchantress thought she was bowing and worshiping her and harley did a good job with her deception

Like I've said elsewhere, the name of the game *should* be "cannon fodder". Captain Boomerang and Harley Quinn, their job is to die while reconnoitering the threat, so that an actual response can be assembled. Their value is expendability.

This then changes, because they manage to not die, and being able to encounter weird and terrible circumstances and somehow survive is, itself, useful. Even if its through a mix of luck and cowardice. *cough*

BW and Hawkeye aren't needed, but they're valuable assets because of their resources and expertise in field work.

The entire premise of this SS completely crumbles the second you try to inject a single piece of logic or thought into it. All the worse when they didn't have to paint themselves in that corner. Remove the connection to Superman, and you still have a viable reason for assembling this team. Like it's always been. But the forced connective DCEU tissue removed any sense of plausibility to the core concept.

The thing about Harley or Boomerang etc is that they are expendable killers that she can control. And there are other meta-human bad guys out there with greater powers. She just hasn't captured them all. This was just the start of the program.

yeah, they are basically Rick Flag of Avengers.

Harley would be useful if you needed a target neutralized with extreme prejudice - for those instances where a moral compass might get in the way. I can't see her being good against Doomsday uunless she was given a powersuit and weapons laced with kryptonite.

Boomerang, I believe they said he'd tangled with a metahumans and come out alive.

Croc, like Harley could probably be useful with the right equipment.

On the whole, I think they were in a beggars can't be choosers situation since Waller or one of the suits said the team they had was the best of the best ( or rather worst of the worst).
