The execution of the villain just wasn't great. I mean I nearly burst out laughing during the third act a few times...lols

Thats such a badass pic. Do we know for sure if there was more Katana footage shot for her that got cut?
I don't know about that but I know Karen wanted to explore Katana's backstory in a potential sequel.

Which Id be cool with. I think Katana is so badass, loved her in Arrow.

I think in arrow they showed captain boomers skills alot better in the movie they got his personality

We desperately needed to see Katana get her own standout fight sequence.

One of Nolan's producers taking a jab at DC director's cuts?

WILL McCRABB
WILL McCRABB – ‏@mccrabb_will

There was a 38 minute sequence cut from TDKR detailing how Wayne got from here back into Gotham.

That's more like a jab at people who complained and complained and complained about Nolan didn't show how Bruce got back to Gotham.

I suppose they could have hired Edgar Wright to direct that bonus sequence

"Bruce walking from dessert to a village"
"Bruce McGyvered a phone to contact his friend"
"Bruce and friend shakes hand"
"Bruce in suits"
"a passport is stamped on"
"Bruce arrives in US airport"
"Bruce sneaks through the secret tunnel of Gotham (the one JL team will fight parademons), quietly make the bat sign while people drown on the icey lake"
"Bruce lie down and sleep"
"Bruce puts civilian jacket on"
"Bruce does free-running passed Bane's guards who are yawning"
"Bruce meets Selina"

This will be in TDK Trilogy ultimate edition with commentary by Chris Nolan.

so many people keep saying the mission was to stop the enchantress and why did they send a team of mostly non metahumans to go after her when that was never the mission

It was clear too me what the mission was once they assembled the team I don't understand why people couldn't understand that :csad:.

This video has been making the rounds. She makes a good point about not wanting to risk innocent lives, but sending soldiers along anyway.

This is brilliant lol.

It doesn't change the fact that letting out extremely dangerous criminals to infiltrate an abandoned city and take on a handful of monsters in order to rescue a government official when it could have been handled by a larger group of highly-trained soldiers doesn't make much sense in the grand scheme of things. Nor does it seem necessary.

And even if their mission in this film was to secure Amanda Waller, she says point-blank in the film that this team was assembled to take on "the next Superman," if need be. People can chalk that up to her embellishing, but that's on the record. She envisions this group as being capable of taking on larger threats. The film did a rather piss-poor job of showcasing their ability to do this, with El Diablo being the exception. Which is what pushed the third act into full-blown ridiculousness. The only reason the third act was possible was because Enchantress apparently forgot how powerful she was and decided to engage in hand-to-hand combat with the squad. It's so incredibly stupid. In any other intelligent situation, she vaporizes them on the spot.

All the navy seals that accompanied the squad into the city were basically killed during the helicopter crash or killed by the putty soldiers. In the end Rick Flag had to constantly be saved by the squad so that shows you how effective the top tier soldiers would be in that situation. I think all of them actually died by the end of the movie when you count GQ dying as well
The whole just throw more soldiers at the problem wouldn't have worked. You had the best navy seals accompanying the team and ultimately deadshot standing on top of a car shooting is more effective than all of them.

Yeah the Enchantress Hand to Hand fight was silly she should have been able to kill them all barring Flag since her June emotions prevented her from doing that.
In fact her brother should have been able to kill all of them he destroyed Helicopters and trains and was very clearly superhuman. How are the squad surviving hits from him? damn maybe they are all metahumans and just don't know it lol

I was told the Harley movie was green lit, anyone know anything about that and if this person isn't just taking rumor as fact?

Woah, someone actually payed attention ?

1st paragraph. She said in the movie that the regular soldiers probably never reach her. Also knowing that she has dirt on her why wouldn't she risk the lives/use the skills of the expendable prisoners? The soldiers were getting wiped out, bringing in different soldiers leads to questions, etc. She wanted Flag to reach her because thats who she trusted the most.

2nd paragraph.

She was embellishing. It sounds good to get control over the prisoners she wants.

The ace was really just Enchantress. Waller never sent the Suicide Squad after Incubus. She sent Enchantress to help stop him. Then once she lost control over her she scrapped stopping them and ordering the squad to come get her.

The only thing I'll say about the Enchantress fight was that her brother just died and she maybe wanted to physically kick their ***. Once they put up a good fight she said enough. They proved themselves worthy so she'll spare their lives if they bow to her will. Thats a pride issue for Enchantress. If you think about the two big bads of the movie had a lot in common (Waller/Enchantress were both prideful and sought power. Both also wanted the squad to bow them.)

The only thing I didn't really like was showing the katana on the ground before Harley did the double cross.

Harley says she's "trying to make it happen" in a recent interview.

They have a female writer doing the script, I cannot remember where I saw it  El Maybe? :whatever:

Task Force X was specifically formed for the specific task of taking on metahuman threats against the US. Why they thought bad guys fighting against a Superman level threat was a good idea, who knows.

In the comics, it wasn't that. They were just there to do the government's dirty work. Task Force X was formed in the comics in a world where superheroes and metahumans were fully established. Seems that's not the case in DCEU outside of Batman and a couple other people.

Yeah I got that in the movie they were going in there on a rescue mission to rescue the subject. But the way in which they activated Task Force X to take care of Incubus, then promptly lose June Moon and then change it to a rescue mission was done in a clunky, rough manner.

Like they activate Task Force X and bringing them all out to get ready, and then it's just June Moon and she goes AWOL. It could've come across better.

They didn't show everybody they showed Enchantress. They just saw a powerful being steal data that they've been trying to get for years. Powerful people do dumb things as well, lol. They bought that Waller had real control of her.

Its as Deadshot said "They're the patsies"

The others except for maybe Diablo were setup for basic missions. Seemed Waller took a real interest in him. Also they never sent Task Force X it was just simply Enchantress for Incubus. Could it have been smoother? Sure. Seems that was sacrificed a bit for the fun tone.

Your idea works too I just don't have a problem with Enchantress setting up the double cross. Also don't mind that it allowed for the squad to actually choose to fight them.

Enchantress losing it while out on a mission would have actually been more predictable now that I think about it. The fact she set everything up with her brother was at least somewhat different.

Creating him/bringing him back helped restore her when Waller was trying to kill her.

The government guy basically said activate Task Force X. He didn't say send in the Enchantress. Also why was she the right person to send in at that time.

The government guy said that...

who showed up? Flag and June. As she said earlier "She controls his heart and I control hers."

When it came down to a serious threat that is who Waller wanted out there.

In Waller's idealized team, it makes sense that Enchantress would be your main player. If you've got an eons-old goddess under your thumb, you'll exploit the hell out of her talents and have the others using theirs to protect your main player.

After the first shot at Midway went FUBAR - Flag, Enchantress and the other teams of soldiers sent in - I got the impression that Waller's plan was to get out of the city (possibly proving her program's worth; at that point it was damned if you do, damned if you don't for her), contain the threat, and find a way to exploit the siblings' talent for creating supernaturally augmented soldiers.

Then events unfold and Waller got what was coming to her (this whole bit where her being a coldhearted ***** came back to bite her in the ass was one of the movie's strong points for me).

Nothing official, but we've heard from a few people that it's happening.
