They stopped worshiping her in favor of technology.

Or some ****.

Yep. That was the exact reason. Dumb as all hell.

Just as ridiculous as her having to kiss every person they kidnapped to turn them into members of her army.

Oh, and the dance. Never forget the dancing. :o

"They stopped worshiping us. Now they look to their stupid machines."
"Well what are you gonna do about it, sis?"
"I'M GONNA BUILD A MACHINE."

Christ, this movie is dumb.

Hahahaha I think Ayer gave up when he got to page 30 of the script.

Still don't understand how it made so much money. Who would want to subject themselves to it more than once?

It made money because people thought it was entertaining. Not all of them are self proclaimed critics.

People here are complaining about performances, well I guess what, that's why it made this much money.

Loved this movie when I saw it in the cinema but, I have to say, my appreciation diminishes every time I watch it at home. Sure, when I watched it in the cinema I acknowledged that it had flaws but I enjoyed it nonetheless but now it's a different story. It must just be me though - I'm the only person I know that hated Thor: The Dark World in the cinema only to find that I enjoy it more every time I see it, despite its own flaws. I'm weird like that.

Exactly. Some people refuse to accept that ALL films are subjective.

The ritual?
I don't remember a machine, the beam looked magical to me, like the soul beam from Mortal Kombat 2011.

Enjoyed at the cinema and having watched Extended Version, equally like it 'at home'. Additional footage 'helps' structure but last third of film is still a bit 'up in the air'.

For me, it delivers on what was promised. 8/10

Saw the EE myself, it doesn't change things dramatically or improve the movie all that much from what the UE did for BvS.

But I did like the extra character interactions and of course more Margot as HQ. The film is still a mess but I still enjoy it, I can't help it. I still maintain Margot as HQ is spot on, and that Deadshot is Will Smiths best action role for years. Surprised how I actually saw Deadshot instead of Will Smith throughout as well.

I may be in the minority but I also love Boomer, Croc and Katana, they have smaller roles but for me make an impact and that adds to my enjoyment of the movie.

We both have the same scores for Suicide Squad. By the way, your BvS score is the same as your SS score, was that for the Ultimate Edition?

Same feeling here. The only problem I had was Ayer gave her mediocre dialogue. For instance, the scene where she's "analyzing" and poking fun at each of the Squad members. Instead of utilizing the moment to showcase how brilliant Harley is, Ayer reduces her to using a bunch of pop culture terms in her "analysis."

I just hope going forward Margot gets even more to work with that can show all of the different sides to Harley without oversexualizing her in the process. Like the New 52 and David Ayer did.

I actually have 2 scores for BvS in my signature, the one equal to SS is the theatrical score. For the UE I gave it an 8.

I personally hope she shows up more in SS sequels as I think she works well as a character within a team. It seems they have different plans for her though.

I hope so too, I just want them to make better use of her character going forward instead of wasting her as just being some ****ty sex symbol. She definitely works great in a team format, and even if she isn't in the next SS movie, she'll still remain within that territory if they follow through with a BOP film.

Margot just won a Critic's Choice award for Harley

Nice! She probably deserved it. She did most of the stunts herself and she performed good as Harley.

Her winning it with Harley is a big step down from Theron winning it last year for her character in Mad Max. Furiosa was a much better character IMO and one who was much better acted. I found Harley to be cringe-inducing and difficult to watch. Fair play to Margot though. She is a great actress who did her best with poor material.

She definitely deserves it. I love Suicide Squad and enjoyed all of the performances, but she was easily my favorite of the bunch. Can't wait to see more of her in the future.

I only saw this movie once but my lady says she wants to get some bourbon and rent this at redbox. I'm actually somewhat interested in returning if only to see how the extended cut shapes out.

My girl Harley just won the CCA, awesome!

Bring on the Harley film!

I just saw a part of the extended cut. First time watching it even thought there aren't many new scenes in it that make a difference. In fact, it doesn't make a difference.

But I feel like the movie is more entertaining than I make it out to be. I think my pre-release expectation had something to do with it. Noticed more of Margot Robbie and she absolutely kills it. I still think the Harley/Joker scenes are the best. The musical score and FX work for the Enchantress is outstanding. I don't particularly think she is a good villain but she isn't terrible either because she is more of a monster than a deep character so I can't complain about Cara's performance. And I have to repeat it, FX work on the Enchantress is outstanding.
