Well slap me silly and call me Sally, I didn't know that my post featured my opinion.

The one thing I always liked about Michael Bay is that he makes all of his films feel like an event, even if it sucks. That's an awesome (pun intended) achievement.

Oh, and I must post this commercial again because it is hilarious and I love how Bay even self-parodies himself. Even he himself knows his place in the film world haha.

I confess I am glad Bay's production company is working on the new TMNT flick. Not that I want him to have that much input, but I know the mother****er will LOOK good.

Terrible movies don't "deserve" to make alot of money. They just do sometimes and I accept that, I don't like it but I accept it.

And nowhere do I imply that the game is rigged as I know that people like watching garbage all the time. You implying that I did say the game is rigged came out of nowhere. You don't have to like my opinion of this franchise and I don't have to like yours.

People are watching films they want to see all the time. My point is only idiots or critics or good boyfriends(or girlfriends) watch films they don't want to. A film may make less that it "deserves" to for any number or reasons(distribution being a huge one) but this "implication" that a film makes more than it earn for the wallets of each member in it's audience just seems petty by my estimation.

That would be like saying a film only made such and such money because the CGI was good? um well? you know where i'm going with this.

People are paying for a bad movie, they are paying for bad movies and thats their right but they have no right to complain about Hollywood's output when they do. A movie can be both fun and actually decent. These films aren't even decent, they are completely inept in every real way. And they aren't even entertaining. Stop using that silly "Lawrence of Arabia" or Godfather or insert classic drama here arguement. I'm expecting a decent freakin movie and so far the Transformers franchise has had nothing but bad films.

I pay for ice cream and my pal tells me I should be buying an apple. It's better food. Bad movies that draw an audience are only bad if they dis-satisfy their patronage, not some set of rules that determine an apple to be more worth your money then a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

and I wasn't using those films in the classic drama argument, I was merely stating that people that pay for Transformers 3 know who they are giving their money too.

Green lantern will make dick all this summer, that's not by coincidence.

Box Office Shocker: 'Bridesmaids' Passing 'Knocked Up' as Judd Apatow's Highest-Grossing Movie

Bridesmaids will now or soon be:

* The biggest grossing R-rated female comedy of all time, passing Sex in the City.

* The biggest grossing Judd Apatow movie (he produced Bridesmaids) of all time, passing even Knocked Up.

* The biggest grossing R-rated Universal Pictures movie of all time.

I loved this movie. :awesome:

What's the point of decent visuals if the characters are unrecognizable and the story is trash?

I get this strange inkling that Smurfs will beat Cowboys and Aliens on the 29th for some reason. I don't know what it is.

probably to see millions of kids rediscover a lond DEAD property...
and the money involved too.

all jokes aside, the point is to make an entertaining movie, what else?

God, this month is going to be grueling; Cap just might be screwed with all these heavy hitters.

37.7mil huh? So TF3 still had a very big day but it's skewed because of those 3D tickets. It did have a fairly big drop off from the so-called beloved second film. Which just confirms what I always knew, the second film was disliked by a large amount of people in the states.

A drop off is to be expected from the highs of the second film but this type of drop off in opening day suggests that alot of people didn't love the second film as was constantly claimed on Hype and other messageboards.

Oh well, I'm sure the difference will be made up with the international numbers. People overseas seem to never get tired of franchises and are enamored with 3D more than we are.

Nobody called TF2 a beloved movie. Everyone thought the burger looked delicious and then everyone realized that we got food poisoning. TF3 is raking in the cash. Everyone knew that would happen.

I'm glad Transformers did well. And I hope all the people that bash them explode. **** them.

So snobby and soulless.

After what the second movie did and the fact that this movie had 3D ticket prices helping it those numbers aren't great. They aren't disasterous or anything but it's clear that this movie isn't going to do Revenge of the Fallen numbers. I always thought it would overseas but domestically, that aint happening. It could have if Revenge of the Fallen hadn't scared some away with it's general awfulness.

It could still cross $300 million. That's not $400 million, but like I said months ago, the second one was so awful that even if this one is merely mediocre, it won't regain fans. However, it can still sell its brand and like POTC3 make slightly more than the first installment which is still great boffo. $300-$315 million domestic is in game. If it can cross those numbers, I'm sure Paramount will be very happy and ready to greenlight another Bay crapfest for in a few years.

It's actually underperforming domestically. That still means a s**tload but the days of 400mil domestic for this franchise are over.

I'll take the little victories wherever I can get them.

The numbers really aren't surprising though because TF2 turned alot of people off.

That's because everyone thinks it comes out tomorrow....because that's what they advertised. Just wait. It will rule the year. And decimate every other movie. Hopefully.

The boy wizard will claim that title, and rightfully so.
