We really do need a break from superheroes, I was only thinking this today that if you'd asked me 5 years ago that we'd be getting all these new character on screen I would have said fantastic. A case of be careful for what you wish for because this onslaught has shown me that I really don't need to see or even want to see every famous comic character come to life. Funny how things change.
Harry Potter will still make $1 Billion before its on DVD & Blu-Ray
It's going to do $1 billion off foreign box office alone.
Considering, neither the last nor the highest grossing installment have passed 660 mill, whilst never has potter hit a billion...I'm very eager to see this happen.
3D and series closer status may be the push it needs to make crazy statements a reality.
I believe the Potter films have all done better internationally than in the States. Same with the LOTR films.
^Definitely wouldn't be the first one but the first major one?
That's typical not only with Harry Potter and LOTR, but fantasy films in general.
The US tends to like big movies that are either grounded in reality or offer at least some version of our world.
Worldwide is different. They love Sci-Fi and fantasy movies a lot more than the US.

What the hell are you doing on this board then? lol! Seriously if you need a break don't go see the movies. Many of us, (I'd venture to say most of us) grew up in a time where there was no interest in making any of these movies.
Superhero movies are no different than any other genre, there are good ones, and bad ones. Do we need a break from fantasy movies? Since the Lord of the Rings/Harry Potter movies came out 10 years ago we've gotten numerous fantasy novels tried to turn into movies, some good, some bad.
Do we need a break from mindless action movies? Wanna make a bet they're already filming Fast and Furious 6?
I just love people who say "we" and presume to speak for everyone.

We need more interesting takes on these properties.
People feel like their watching the same movie over and over, at least with the action films there are very tangible differences outside the typical tropes.
Can you all imagine if Marvel Studios made every superhero movie?
Lukily we get a nolan batman, Marc Webb Spidey Snyder Superman. It's just when marvel inflates the market with the serviceable films that people feel like there are too many of the same film out.
I was like many of you a few years ago with being all excited about all these movies coming out, now my opinion has changed, too many superheroes is not a good thing and taking a break is not only good for the genre it's good for the audience. Too many will cannibalize the genre.
Quantity isn't what's going to destroy this genre, it's the amount of non-quality that is consistently pushed out. If we can imagine an ideal 2012, with Avengers, TDKR, and ASM, all doing gigantic numbers while being equally great films -- who is honestly going to complain? People will want more of that.
LmaoLook, keep the blinkers on if you want, I don't really care anymore.
I havent heard this complaint with any superhero movie other than GL.
