Looks A LOT better. They were on the right track with the gold trim, not sure why didn't finish it.

Do we know what the little gold thing on her above the crest is? It's very random.

Those cape-clasps have really grown on me since we first saw them in those early pictures of Hoechlin. I wish they were keeping Supergirl's skirt but it is nice to see more of a connection between her suit and Superman's.

looks good in the light. Soooo happy the \S/ hasn't changed, that's the one thing I wanted to stay the same. She looks so happy with the detachable cape, a literal weight off her shoulders.

Just noticed they ditched the muscle under-suit as well.

I think the shoulder pads were attached to the corset to help keep the Cape up....no need for that anymore. She doesn't need a muscle suit....damn, I wish I had those guns. I think that is a big part of her saying she has freer motion now......bring on the action.

Damn, she looks fantastic. It feels like they did a couple year time-jump and we're getting back into the story again. She looks like a person who means The Business!

I like the new suit, but I echo the comments about some "red" accents like Overgirl's suit being needed to help break up all of the blue and provide some balance for the big red boots.

Red gloves / forearms like the spacesuit would be another option.

It's good that Melissa Benoist is speaking out about what would work better for her. I know that Lucy Lawless frequently complained about not being able to wear pants as Xena: Warrior Princess (except for when she was pregnant - because who'd be cruel enough to make a pregnant woman freeze). Funnily enough, the few times the character did get to wear pants (e.g. as Empress Xena in "When Fates Collide") she looked amazing!

I think red accents on the shoulder would have made the suit perfect, but it does look a lot better in the set photos. Looking forward to seeing it in action

Her new suit is looking good in light. Can't wait for this to premiere with Batwoman, which I will also be watching as well.

The new suit looks awesome. I gave season 4 a change by binge watching it and I thought Supergirl was actually enjoyable. Looking forward to the new season.

Like, I get the logistics of why (as SG isn’t the only one to get this), but SG finally gets an EW cover all to herself for the first time ever (since she shared the last one with Grant and Stephen), the same week they unveil the first new suit she’s had in 4 years, and yet the cover shoot has nothing to do with the new suit. The timing on that is just funny to me. But anyway, good for her!

News of the costume redesign didn’t seem particular “official.” It was casually (accidentally?) mentioned in an interview; then there’s a photo on Benoit’s personal Twitter account; then we see some unauthorized BTS stuff. So for the EW photo shoot, maybe it was decided (at that time) to go with the original costume so as to avoid confusion and/or keep the new costume secret.
