I'm pretty sure the showrunners wish they hadn't included that line, either, given how they seem to be quietly retconing it away. ;)

I more wonder, in retrospect, *why* they included that line. What was their logic for putting it in, in terms of narrative and setting? Or did it have nothing to do with narrative and setting, it was just an attempt to have a clever line about there now being another Kryptonian protector of the world. . . which they didn't think through nearly well enough.

The latter, I suspect.

hmm, Likely the latter due to the embargo with superman & possible some other characters.

So...more confusion on the crossover episode numbers. Grant Gustin just tweeted that he's reviewing his work on Supergirl 2x08 now, which means the Supergirl crossover ep (which supposedly "kicks off" the crossover) must be the same number as the others, despite the show starting a week later, and 2x08 is BEFORE the hiatus as we originally thought? So perhaps Arrow and Flash will take a week off sometime before this while Supergirl and Legends catch up? Unless Barry appears in both 2x07 AND 2x08, I don't know how else it would go.

I was hoping that the crossover will be in order so I can watch and record it like a movie. Now we know he's in the Supergirl part of the crossover. Does this mean that only Supergirl and Flash are the only ones in all four parts?

With Superman in CW, I was hoping for a Flashpoint Project Superman.

If they are shown out of order then I'm going to wait to watch them in order. No point in starting in the Flash part of the crossover, going through to Legends and then watching the first part of it with Supergirl the week after.

I suppose there will be some who will do that though?

Flash has to go get Supergirl so it makes sense that those 2 would be in all 4 parts.

They won't be shown out of order....

It sounds like we will have the Winter finale of Supergirl and at the last minute of that she is retrieved by Flash....and then is in all 3 other shows following that episode.
And maybe she even dies at the end of one of the other shows during the crossover seeing the name of Smith's episode is "Supergirl Lives"????? and I believe is the premiere of the Spring portion of the season??????just some speculation.

Hmmmmm.....I do not see them showing the episodes out of order....that would be extremely dumb on their part and would hurt the ratings, so I just don't see that happening.

Flash and Arrow have taken breaks last two seasons to catch up with each for the cross over. So safe to assume they'll both break sometime for Supergirl and Legends to catch up.

Superman needs to be involved somehow either to get Kara back or something.

Based on Andrew's comments, it doesn't sound like Superman will be coming back any time soon. If we do see him again, it'll most likely take place in the second half of the season.

I'd assumed it would've been the beginning and end of the season, with maybe the middle. I really hope Kevin Smith's Supergirl Lives is where Superman can appear, because that hasn't been shot yet. But he has to appear in the finale.

Does anyone feel like, now with Superman here after wanting him to appear in season 1, that they want to watch Superman instead of Supergirl?

Most likely given the immense star power Superman has.

I don't expect Superman to appear for the rest of the first half of the season, but he would likely return in the second half.

Justice League doesn't come out until late 2017, so why not have Superman being used during the time Superman is not used in the movies?

Nope...I think they are doing a fantastic job having them both on "Supergirl"....I'm really enjoying it, and I don't think he overshadows her at all....as if anyone could overshadow Melissa as Supergirl.... :whatever: :cwink:

http://www.cosmicbooknews.com/content/arrow-flash-supergirl-legends-crossover-will-be-five-episodes-long

It's learned the upcoming big CW DC crossover featuring Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC's Legends of Tomorrow will be five episodes long.

Stephen Amell posted a Facebook Live video where he spoke about filming.

"Hey, Facebook! What is happening!" Amell said. "I am back after five weeks of crossover craziness that consisted of five different episodes of television. Not five different shows, but five different episodes of television being filmed simultaneously."

Neither do I, which is why I'm saying I think Flash and Arrow will need to take an extra week's hiatus at some point before this if Supergirl and Legends are going to catch up so that the crossover happens on everyone's "episode 8," because that's the only other way I can see this playing out now.

5-part crossover, eh? I wonder which series will this occur twice in.

Sounds like it will start and end in Supergirl. But probably just at the end of the first episode probably with Barry coming to get Kara and at the beginning of the last part of Supergirl with Barry bringing Kara back.

Yeah I can see this as I think both are the only ones who are in 5 parts.

So, I know we knew there was no way Superman would become a regular on this show, and that's a good thing for multiple reasons. However, I just read this TV Guide article and this phrase kinda jumped out at me:

The show legally can't have Superman as a regular on the series...
...Which just kinda makes me wonder if he was "loaned" to them with some very specific caveats. If that WERE the case, it would likely make future possibilities much more limited than some of us were hoping.

If WB were to allow Supergirl to use Superman again, I can see them on loan for 2 episodes at a time - one for the season premiere, one for the mid-season point, and one for the season finale. I'm looking at no more than 6 episodes for Superman.
