This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]492665[/split]
Eh looks meh. Got a Sex and City vibe going on buy don't think it works really well. We'll see.
I'm not sure why you'd give up on a show where establishing connections to the Batman universe WAS THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE SHOW ITSELF, but whatever.
Meh, I'd rather it be acknowledged than completely enforcing a character embargo on even mentioning the name. Let the fans know the other characters DO exist in the universe without ignoring it.Because although a show is set in a universe, doesn't mean it constantly needs to tell the viewers that. We get it, its called Gotham. Bruce Wayne is going to be Batman. There is no need for constant winks to the camera about it. The show should be able to stand on its own at some point. Build the mythology, tell the story, be subtle. Don't constantly pound the viewer over the head with it. Doing so is bad writing, which is distracting. When the show is not establishing its own characters and story sand instead just reminding the viewers "ITS A BATMAN SHOW!" I lose interest. Similarly, I will lose interest in this if every other line of dialogue is designed to point to the fact that Supergirl is Superman's cousin (which the trailer certainly suggested is the case).
Gotham's entire premise is predicated on telling the stories of HOW the Batman villains we know BECAME who they are. It's the show's raison d'etre.
The CSI equivalent of this show's take on Catwoman would be a dude in a Sherlock Holmes hat walking around looking through a magnifying glass while a chubby policeman follows him and takes notes. If establishing who these characters are in a non-subtle fashion is part of the series' conceptual DNA and its raison d'etre for existing (which it is), it's not 'bombarding people'; it's sticking to the show's premise.
It's like complaining that a CSI show is constantly focusing on the science of solving crimes and saying that constantly featuring that science is 'bombarding people' with the fact that the show's characters are scientists who solve crimes. It's a silly thing to complain about.
Anyway, let's move on.
Sex and the city vibe? What the **** hahaha. I don't remember anyone on sex in the city flying around and being bulletproof.
Superhero shows have an overwhelming male audience. Nobody said it was exclusive, but it sure is the largest demographic by far.Superhero fans aren't exclusively male, and it's really condescending to behave otherwise.
I will guarantee you that there are going to be female viewers who watch the show as much for the superhero stuff as for the stuff involving her being a PA to Super!Bitca Cat Grant.

They obviously will be referencing Superman. It may get old if we never see him appear though. Maybe they will just have her talk to him across a fence Home Improvement style
