He created Buffy, not just directed it.

It's a rumor though. BUT...the mind does wander. Is it true or not that he directed the TV show Buffy and the musical episode it did sometime in the late 90's?
Joss was the creator and executive producer of Buffy as well as its spin off, Angel.

And yes, he wrote, directed, and composed songs for the musical episode. It aired in 2001.

I'm down for Whedon to direct a few episodes.

You don't see Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman sitting on different earths and then having to use a plot device to bring them together for Justice League. Just write a Crisis event like in the comics and join them. You'd think we were asking the impossible.

That would be an ok twist on the Justice League, actually.

The Buffy musical ep is one of my favorite episodes of television ever, so I am definitely here for Joss doing the musical crossover.

Well as we talk Whedon here, Kevin Smith's Supergirl episode has a title.

Mod edit: Sorry Robert, but Kevin's language isn't the best, so I had to delete the link. He has quite the love for the f-bomb.... :(

Title in here...

Supergirl Lives.... makes me wonder what the reason is for people to think she doesn't....

It's just going along with a title he wrote....."Superman Lives".... :)

Not the main crossover.....this one is later in the 2nd half of the season.

I'm for a merging of the universes. Keeping them separate is just keeping things cumbersome. Doing it this way means that Felicity can never just take a train and surprise Team Supergirl in National City. Or Supergirl can't just fly to Barry's pad for a party...

And as stated previously, they set about closing the breaches for a reason.

But, if it doesn't happen, I can live with it. But if it does happen, I can live with that too!

As for the musical, I heard that it was going to be in their heads, no out and out singing, but thinking their thoughts in song.

^ It was said that SOME of the songs might be just "inside their heads".

Just to give everyone an idea of how well Melissa and Grant perform, here are a few vids from their time on Glee:

Grant Gustin:

"Smooth Criminal":

"Glad You Came":

"I Want You Back":

"Live While We're Young":

Melissa Benoist:

"Blow Me (One Last Kiss)":

"Wrecking Ball":

"Locked Out of Heaven":

Last but not least, what was probably the most prophetic of Melissa's songs/duets, "Holding Out For a Hero":

IM all for the Musical Crossover. ANd if Joss Whedon is directing I can't wait.

Too lazy to look back at previous pages, but I suppose none of you have suggested Neil Patrick Harris to reprise his role as Music Meister for the musical episode. :o

I figure people would get a kick out of this, but I just learned through the Supergirl TV Talk podcast and an interview that the hosts did with Larry Teng that they filmed a shot of a Krypto dog bowl that was cut out of, I believe, the episode Solitude, indicating that he already exists in the universe.

Don't even joke about that. That would be heavenly!

Mr Mxyzptlk could be behind the musical stuff. Still hoping its just drunken Karaoke shenanigans.

I would totally accept that, good idea. I hope that's the case then cause with Mxy around you could do anything really.

Ha, my first thought when I heard about this was Mr. Mxy being behind it. That was before I heard about this "Music Meister" character, though. That would certainly make sense too, but to be honest, I'd still prefer Mr. Mxy.

If this doesn't happen, then I'll be heartbroken! I think NPH would be up for it - he seems to love superheroes from some of his annual Halloween costume choices.

It was trending on twitter yesterday are you kidding...

Didn't know he voiced the character Music Meister before. Make it happen.

Same although Music Meister would also give a good reason.
