The problem is that I think that Singer had a certain look in mind. Two of the final contenders were Keri Russel and Kate Bosworth. They both have a similar look and body type. I think Singer was looking for this. His reasons? I don't know.

i haven't gotten all the hackensack references relating to parker posey in just about every review of the superman film. can anyone explain?
