Supernatural

well that sucks :(

I'm sure there will be a surprise or two, but I think the last episode played it's hand regarding the endgame: I think either Jack or Sam takes Chuck's place as "God". Since they can't kill/imprison God due to the imbalance it would create, they'd have to find a replacement.

This Chuck **** still isnt working for me. Hes a completely different character and I still dont buy this turn. He isnt even that scary. Hes just a petty brat. And nothing he has done has been worse than anything else a previous big bad did. Sure he can control people and dust people, but we've seen that from other villains. He opened hell but we've seen similar from other villains.

As a final villain its all very underwhelming.

Also, Sam was incredibly gullible and stupid. He finds out that if God is caged the monsters will takeover in 2021 and he and Dean will become vampires in 2022. Ok. First of all Sam knows they can change fate. Theyve done it before and once God is caged he cant control their fate. Second Sam has cured Dean of vampirism before so that's not a death sentence. Third he knows the monsters begin taking over in 2021 so at worst they now have a year to prepare and begin working on the problem before it even gets going. Fourthly Cas having the Mark and going crazy also isnt an insurmountable problem and Cas is an angel so even if he has to be locked up that's still a much better alternative to a petulant Chuck being free. Sam should have told God to shove his pocket watch up his celestial ass and caged him. Chuck is the immediate threat. Not some hypothetical future that hasnt happened yet. ****ing hell!!!

I must admit @Marvolo , I’m not feeling this evil Chuck role either. He’s the ultimate bad - in that he’s God, but he’s not the big bad.

What I really don’t like is how it appears as though Chuck has in fact controlled Sam and Deans fate since the show started; the latest episodes seems to imply that they’re just regular people now and that they were previously ... enhanced.

What doesn’t make sense here though is where we’ve seen every other hunter go hand to hand with monsters and be well within a chance. Sam and Dean seem to have been reduced to less than regular people.

I really hope the deal between Jack, Death and the Empty makes pays off.

I agree with both o yall

Last episode, Sam seeing those visions.... god said "You want to see what happens if you win" which implies that is but one of an unknown amount of possible futures, so Sam should've known that his Monster-Takeover/Vampire vision could've been (pretty easily) changed

But I will say, I like last night's episode with their Plot Armor starting to fail. Yeah, we've seen "normies" go up against monsters before, but the past few years Sam and Dean have been a bit too powerful. You watch the early seasons and Sam and Dean s*** themselves when they see various monsters, and especially demons, and on the rare occasion they try to fight them hand to hand, they get their asses handed to them. But the past couple seasons, they tussle with powerful monsters and easily hold their own. The most egregious, to me, was in Purgatory with the Leviathans. Even the angels were terrified of them in season 7, but this time they didn't even hesitate to fight him, and they did way better than they should have

so its refreshing that they may actually be scared and in over their heads fighting creatures much more powerful than they are.

Calling it now. Billie is using Jack to kill God, because she wants to become the new God. Things wont go the way she intends. Either because the boys realize shes just using them, or because something else throws a wrench in her plan. Jack will become the new God.

Also I love the way they explained the existence of the pagan gods. Of course, Chuck invented them because pagan gods result in the best stories. Seems obvious now that its revealed.

Same and Dean need to start looking for and recruiting pagan gods that want to kill or screw over Chuck. They could be good allies against Chuck.

I don't know if Billie wants to become the new God or just take care of the existing one who no doubt has given her trouble but everything else sounds right.

I couldn’t say what Billie has planned, but I don’t think she intends to take over the mantle of God.

The Empty has a vendetta against God for disturbing existence. Billie (and before her) Death was said to one day reap God. I’m not getting the vibe (anywhere) that God as an entity is replaceable, unless Amara steps in.

I do wonder whether this show will address Chuck & Amaras origin before it wraps up, as even they had to have come from somewhere, but I guess they (the writers) ultimately haven’t got time to fill in all the gaps.

It was nice that we got an explanation, but I’m not sure it adds up. When we met Kali/Khali, didn’t age specifically state that her and the other Pagan/Norse/Greek (etc) Gods existed before Chuck came along?

Unless it’s implied (and I missed it) that they were created by Chuck, but he made it that they weren’t aware of his existence?

It seems unlikely that God would have outright created a sub species of God that was able to take him on, or out. Sure, Jack is said to be able to do that, but he’s (by definition) an abomination - his abilities are (from Gods perspective) are an unfortunate side effect.

God didnt create humans to take him on either, but Sam and Dean will. They need all the firepower and advantage they can get. Even if a pagan god isnt strong enough on their on they could offer something, and when combined with Sam and Dean the odds might shift in their favor.

I'm glad they're all safe. Bet Jared is gunna get some stick though if it was his plane.

Regarding the actual show though, and Jack's quest, also taking into account what the Darkness said to Castiel about taking him when he was happy or words to that extent, I can't help but think that the final heart Jack will have to consume to best God will indeed be Castiels. It'll be bittersweet.

Crap you might be right. Also crazy to hear about the landing.

Meanwhile on Twitter Dabb teased the final page

People have figured out the words at the top as
"When the final chord of the song plays, we BLACKOUT"
Bet ya the song played at the end is Carry On.

My hope is the show doesn't end with Dean and Sam STILL hunting. Their needs to be some finality to their story.

Well this scene now takes a more relevant meaning

Strange times we’re living in. At least they’ll (fingers crossed) have time to do the finale, though.

Honestly I wish CW would take the 7 unaired episodes of season 15, and add 6 new episodes to them and call it Season 16.

I think that would be a mistake. They were tying up the entire series with the last episode so either they throw in a bunch of filler episodes or they have to rewrite the finale. Or somehow justify an epilogue of 6 new episodes after it's all over.

Yeah I agree. I love the show but Supernatural has too much filler at times. It always bothers me a little bit when they're like "well there's nothing we can do about the big bad now, so let's do a case..." When I just want the story to progress

The final season actually seemed to have way less filler than the previous 10 seasons. Even if the episodes were kind of a filler villain they always seemed to tie Chuck into the episode. Problem this season was the pandemic and the CW schedule they take so many breaks. They would show 2 episodes and take 4-5weeks off.

I've been rewatching the show and a few things from earlier seasons play a lot different these days. Particularly the Pestilence horsemen's intro scene, Becky marriage raping Sam with a love potion, Dean being attracted to teenage girls more than once some of which are minors, and the fact that Donald Trump smuggled the Leviathan tablet into the US for Dick Roman.

I also had missed or forgotten that Cass casually reveals in season 8 that he is a Seraphim. In christian theology the Seraphim are the highest order of angels. They have 6 wings and guard and continually adorate God on his throne. Its a shame that the show never showed Cass with 6 wings. After God resurrected him in the season 5 finale there should have been a scene in which Cas is revealed to now have 6 wings. Indicating his upgrade in the heavenly hierarchy and his increased power. Could have been a cool moment if he returned to heaven and the angels tried to take him into custody for caging Michael and Cass showed that he now has 6 wings and the other angels backed off in shock.

The end begins...again Oct 8th!

Normally a show of this length would have become tiresome and boring by now (I'm looking at you Walking Dead) but Supernatural, for the most part at least, has remained strong. It'll be ... sad to see it go, but at the same time, it's going to end on a high.

I'm just grateful (as much as it pains me to say it) that the spinoffs flopped. 15 Seasons of this show is/was enough for that happy conclusion. The story will be told when this one wraps, and I have faith that the writers will do it justice.
