Survivor: Samoa

A heartless bi*ch if ever there was one. Nice paraphrasing job.

I was disappointed that this was only a 'review' episode, never mind the new scenes. It was inevitable, of course, and I knew it had to come sooner or later, but they really should have put in a heads-up in the preview so as not to build up a week's worth of anticipation and then be a cockblock about it. It's effing rude.

Note how alert Natalie was throughout, how ever-perceiving. Ashley, in contrast, looked the very definition of ditziness, like in a perpertual state of "What am I supposed to be doing?".

I picked up on Natalie saying that she hopes to be in the final two. Hasn't it already been established that there would be a final three, due to the increased number of players? I figured they would've been briefed beforehand. A non-issue, to be sure, but still interesting.

I don't think the cast is ever told whether it will be a final two or final three until they get that last treemail about the final challenge.

Man, I already knew Laura was a fundamentalist d-bag who treated others like crap, but I didn't know her heart was made out of stone until tonight.

SHAMBO :csad: : "My brother and sister both died."

LAURA :awesome: : "Well, that's nice. They're better off dead, y'know. Sham sweetie, could ya move a bit to the right? You're blocking my sun."

I couldnt believe that. I'm always unconfortable when people say stuff like that around me, but come on, lady! That was just terrible.

Me and my brother were watching that scene and after it was over my brother turns to me and jokes "If Laura thinks dead people are better off why doesn't she do us a favor and off herself."

Horrible, but funny. :hehe:

Man, how did I miss this thread? This season has been awesome!

Is the "review" ep worth watching?

Welcome.

It depends. If you want to see what happens next and is impatient about it, no.

However, the new scenes that didn't made the cut were interesting to see, at least. I just about switched the channel as soon as I saw that it was a 'review' episode, but I'm glad I did not. You get to know a little more about the players that hover on the periphery, like Brett, as well as see the best and worst brought out of most of the players.

We've had some pretty good conversation on the season thus far. Welcome to the thread Pickles!

It was Thanksgiving, CBS definitely wouldn't be showing a new episode.

For everyone - applications for Survivor 21 and 22 are now online at CBS.

I'll be applying! :)

I'd do it, but I hate bugs. :o

The review episode was actually pretty interesting. I wonder if Mick and Russell still have something going? It was interesting to see that Russell actually let Mick in on a lie.

Hmm, I can't believe I missed this thread. This is the first season I have followed every episode with interest since the All-Star season.

I am pulling for Russell. :awesome:

I was just reading and watching some of Laura's post show interviews and one part of her interview over at EW.com intrigued me:

Laura said that at the final Tribal Council, one person in the finals gives a jury speech that completely steals the game away from the other two finalists.

Interesting.....

I hate the recap episodes! I didn't even know that's what it was, otherwise I'd have told the Tivo to skip it.

Watch it. The recaps the past couple of seasons have been very good!

Confirmation that this season will have a final three and a final two? Or was this already confirmed?

It's a nine person jury, that pretty much confirms that it's a Final Three.

I wonder what the repercussions are going to be from tonight's episode...

Good episode tonight. Count on Russell to get rid of the one guy who jeopardizes his game immediately.

I understand why Russell got rid of John but does anyone else feel that keeping Shambo happy for 1 more concil may have been the smarter move? Angering Shambo could have some repercussions next week and she could possibly flip back to the remaining Galu which would essentially bring it back to a 4-4 tie.

Even Russell said it himself this episode that Shambo votes with emotion which could result in her holding a bigger grudge against the Foas more so than Dave.

Jaison made the excellent point when he was talking to Mick. Why risk alienating Shambo just to vote out John?

I really don't see how Russell has any chance of winning this game. He's playing it like a bull running through a china shop. Absolutely no regard for how the jury is shaping up or how they perceive him in the game.

It seems like it won't exactly be a 4-4 split next vote because Mick is beginning to question Russell. I wouldn't be surprised if they start making moves to get him out of the game. However I'm curious if they can pull it off. Russell has shown that he's not afraid to play the idol at a moment's notice, and Natalie may want to keep him around longer. What's to say that she won't attempt to save Russell?

Mick is dumb for wanting to vote out Russell in the first place. If he actually wants to win, he'd want to go to the F3 with Russell. Jaison and Natalie would be smart to try and keep Russell in as long as possible because they have the best chance of winning against him in the finals.

With three Galu's still in the game, it would be idiotic for any of the Foa Foa to vote out one of their own at this point leaving the door open for one of Dave, Monica, or Brett to slide into the Final Three, since they would for sure grab up all the votes at the Final TC.

Gotta love how Natalie outlasted so many of the guys in the challenge. This along with that award challenge where she had to grab the numbered flags hanging on to that tethered platform shows how much heart she has.

She's my favorite to win it all. Few (if any) real enemies and lots of heart.

At this point, I only see Natalie or Jaison winnning this game. I would be absolutely shocked if anyone else won.

David, Monica, Brett - They're all just sitting ducks waiting to be voted out. With them, all that matters now is what order they go out in.

Mick - He's been a strageic/gameplay non-factor the entire season. We've never seen him talk about or implement any strategy until last nights episode, and even then all he did was parrot back what Russell and Jaison said. I would be shocked and completely disappointed if he won.

Shambo - As if ANYONE on the jury would give her their vote, especially since the jury will be the entire Galu tribe. She's has no shot at all.

Russell - He's playing way too sloppy and arrogant at this point. He's just kicking people out left and right after making promise after promise to people. He promised John safety - Went back on it tonight. He left Shambo hanging in the wind on last nights vote - Bad. He made ANOTHER promise to Dave tonight which he'll surely go back on. He'll have an uphill battle at the FTC if he makes it, and I don't see Galu, especially the women who'll be a large chuck of the final vote, voting in his favor.

Was it not hilarious to see Galu walking on eggshells around Shambo at T.C. with their carefully worded responses when, not long ago, they viewed her as little better than a gnat? Haha. That said, I'm coming to view Shambo with the same dislike I reserved for Laura. It rankled to see her in a position of power, which clearly has gone to her head and apparently gave her squinty eyes for no reason. But if there is to be a final three, let her be one of them alongside Russell and Natalie, thus all but ensuring that my girl wins it all. Girl did admirably once again at the immunity challenge.

Russell played the game as bullheadedly as he ever did, and with sledgehammers when he should now be using tweezers. I somewhat see his sense in voting off John instead of going by Shambo's wishes. Galu was still smarting from losing Laura and understandably out for some schoolyard payback. But why risk alienating Shambo? He should've waited until Shambo is not the bloody weight to swing the pendulum whichever way she pleases. Jaison spoke wisely. Hurricane Shambo is en route to Russell Town, Pop: 1.

The reactions at T.C. were priceless. The way John just dismissively pouted at his first vote, then his face turning to , then :csad:. He couldn't have possibly trusted Russell that much, could he? The man shrieks untrustworthiness. Dim people. Shambo's look of realization that Her Word is Law meant ****-all, and then darkening anger, was gold, too. And I approve of letting the jury dropping in comments edgewise. That hasn't happened before, has it?
