Survivor: Samoa

The season was originally only going to start with 18 castaways, and Ashley and Erik were the two alternates but production liked both so much they just bumped the cast up to 20 people.

And Mike was supposed to be on Survivor Tocantins but he had to be removed for medical reasons before filming started, and he was replaced by Spencer.

That's cool that they're giving him another chance.

I assume you're referring to Mike Skupin when he fell in the fire back during Survivor Australia.

They actually did ask him to come back twice. They asked him to come back for Survivor All Stars and he declined, then they asked him to come back for Survivor Micronesia: Fans vs. Favorites and he turned that down too.

Don't know about Micronesia, but the story on All-Stars was they basically dumped him at the 11th hour to put Rupert on.

Nah, I didn't hear he was dumped I heard he just didn't want to come back.

As far as people being dumped, I do know that Kelly G. from Survivor Africa was at the airport all packed up to go back for Survivor All Stars and at the last minute they told her to stay and replaced her with Shii Ann from Thailand.

I do remember Mark Burnett and Probst were saying that "only" Coolleen Haskel and Liz Hasselbeck turned down the chance to do All-Stars back in '03. Subsequently, it turned out that quiet a few people actually said "No thanks." to returning (including the three MIA winners Vee, Brian and Sandra).

Yeah, I remember about the Kelly G. thing too.

Neat.

On the CBS site they have videos from every contestant but Ashley. I wonder if she got booted before the videos were taped.

Yea, Sandra said she couldn't do it, which makes sense since she had just lasted all 39 days on Pearl Islands and All Stars started shooting two months after Pearls filming ended. Wasn't enough time for her to recover

Luckily.....
She's on All Stars 2 next season!

Right. Vecepia had just had a baby and Brian wanted an up-front fee or something (Best player of all-time? No question. But an "appearance fee?" *****ebag).

Just watched the Jeff Probst Impressions on CBS' site today, so I thought I'd get my post in seeing that we're only 3 weeks away.

Really looking forward to this season. Lotta hotties help too.

Yea I'm excited too.

Jeff said this years group reminded him of the Micronesia cast, so I'll take that because Micronesia was an awesome season.

The next All-Star edition cast list was pretty much spoiled by Coby Archa back in July when he gave the list of 23 participants (likely 20 contestants and 3 alternates)

Survivor Australia: Jerri Manthey and Tina Wesson
Survivor Africa: Tom Buchanan
Survivor Amazon: Jenna Morasca
Survivor Pearl Islands: Rupert, Johnny Fairplay, and Sandra
Survivor Vanuatu: Twila Tanner
Survivor Palau: Stephenie LaGrossa and Tom Westman
Survivor Panama: Cirie Fields and Shane Powers
Survivor Cook Islands: Ozzy Lusth and Parvati Shallow
Survivor China: Jean-Robert Bellande, James Clement, and Amanda
Survivor Micronesia: Natalie Bolton
Survivor Gabon: Randy Bailey, Ace Gordon, and “Sugar”
Survivor Tocantins: Sierra Reed and Benjamin “Coach” Wade

Referring to next season:

Shannon from this season was asked to participate in S20 but she declined. So I guess she at least makes it to the jury stage for Samoa for them to ask her back for All Stars 2.

There have been weight-loss reports regarding her. So you're right. She at the very least made the jury.

Oh and bummer...

Jenna M. is not on All Stars 2. :( She updated her Myspace blog the other day talking about Ethan. I mean, it could be someone doing it for her, but she really isn't that type. Bummer, I wanted to see her play again after she left the first All Stars.

That cast list is quite impressive if it proves true.

TDT doesn't have a bullet-proof track-record obviously. But it's pretty damn solid.

[BLACKOUT]Randy[/BLACKOUT] was the name that got me excited.

Loved that guy to death.

Meh...

To me, if that is the final cast for All Stars 2 then meh meh meh it could be so much better, especially on the womens side.

Amanda - There is abo****ely no reason to be bring her back again. She made it to the F2/F3 two seasons in a row playing a mediocre game both times and lost miserably. Why do we need to see her lose again? Plus she's not even that interesting. I'm seriously puzzled as to why she has so many fans. She's so boring to me.

Danielle/Candice/Parvati - Huh?? Why?!?! Does anyone even care about these girls or even remember Danielle or Candice? I mean I can understand Parvati since she's a winner, but she still wasn't a remarkable player or character, neither were Danielle or Candice.

Tyson/Randy - Ugh! Such a waste of two good spots. There are far better, smarter, and interesting crazy players than these two.

JT - Yea, he was good winner and he's a nice guy but there are better male players/characters that need to be on this season that were left out from the first All Stars.

The rest of the cast is deserves their spots, the rest are definite All Stars in my eyes. But there are some glaring omissions that need to be there:

Men: Gervase, Sean Rector, Shane, Todd, Ken (Gabon)
Women: Kelly W., Kelly G, Jenna M., Twila, Peih Gee, Crystal, Taj
