Survivor: Samoa

Funny, CBS just released the title of next weeks episode. It's titled "Damage Control." HA!

Hurricane Shambo is an understatement! That was really stupid on Russell's part because now Shambo has absolutely no reason to trust him anymore. Now there's the potential for her to go back and vote with Monica/Dave/Brett at the next Tribal Council. And whose to say they couldn't pull over Foa Foa and take out Russell? It would be dumb for any of them to do so, but it could happen.

I mean, Jaison said it perfectly last night, they're now treating Shambo like Galu treated her and that's very foolish.

While I'm on Jaison, I know he has to be PISSED at Russell. He gave up all his money at the auction to win the immunity advantage, then stayed in the challenge and won it just to make sure the target, Dave, didn't and then Russell just flaunts around and says "Oh we're voting out John now." I know I would be pissed.

Only thing I didn't understand about the Shambo thing was that it seemed like they kept her in the dark about the plan. Talk the plan over with Shambo, explain to her who it was better strategically to vote out John now. She may have totally dismissed because she's playing this game way too emotionally, but at least she'll feel included, instead of being excluded again. I don't see her siding with the former Galu's though, she hates Dave and dislikes Monica too much.

Also I don't see Jaison and Mick's discussion about Russell being a major part of the episode, those previews are always totally misleading, unless it concerns someone getting injured.

I think it was a huge mistake to not even talk to Shambo about voting out John.

It is baffling why Shambo wasn't let in on the plan, but she's clearly gone bonkers now, what with the amount of time she's spent chatting with the chickens, and Russell maybe saw that it was time to cut his losses. From the likely aptly named title above, Shambo looks to be digging herself further in the hole. I wouldn't be surprised if she was next on the chopping block; Galu could be persuaded to vote for Shambo, by Russell's oiliness if not Shambo's own doing.

If Russell votes out Shambo next week, he's sealed his fate at the Final TC. There's no way he'd win. That's one more vote he's screwed over and the game isn't even close to being done.

Oh, and Monica is a hypocrite. She called John a Galu traitor - uh you guys voted Erik out just three episodes ago if you didn't remember....

I don't think Russell cares to win the game, anyway. Money doesn't seem to be an issue with him, being an oil tycoon. But I daresay he has the popular vote in the bag.

If he isn't really playing to win, than I hope he loses miserably if he makes it all the way to the FTC.

I can already imagine the lulz to be had when he is confronted by the jury with every reason to tear into him. Either he'd explode most entertainingly or, heaven forbid, suddenly develop a speech impediment a la Stephen.

I was just thinking about the preview. When have the previews ever led us straight and true? Mick has stuck with Foa Foa this far and after last week's recap in which Mick and Russell were all chummies and open secrets, I find it hard to swallow that Mick would turn on Russell. By now, he should already know Russell's nature and how beneficial to him having Russell around would be; as a buffer against the jury's ire, if you will.

What if Mick was telling the snake story to Galu and, with everyone voting for Russell at T.C., Russell would then put his HII to good use, maybe taking Shambo down as well with his one vote? Then Foa Foa would have numbers and Russell would be without idol. Hitting two chickens with one stone.

I think you might be giving Mick a little too much credit.

I was watching with my brother again last night and when Mick popped up during the second half of the episode after the challenge my brother goes "I always forget that he's still there." :hehe:

Sorry for the double post, but TWO people are getting voted out next week!

THE CASTAWAYS ARE SHOCKED TO DISCOVER A TWIST THAT WILL ULTIMATELY SEND TWO OF THEM HOME, ON "SURVIVOR: SAMOA" THURSDAY, DEC. 10, 2009
"Damage Control" - Fearing that he is next on the chopping block, one castaway gives a shocking performance at Tribal Council, on SURVIVOR: SAMOA, Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Agreed. It seems that everyone is a little TOO stuck on "Shambo only votes with her emotions." If they'd at least mentioned it, even if she disagreed, she'd feel included.

If I were, that would be trufax. The man seems incapable of producing a single original thought, instead preferring to regurgitating what other people have said. It's the sort of passive gameplay that makes for boring television, which rapidly becomes rage television when the player claims that it's been his plan all along to lay low and not rufffle feathers, when he obviously didn't have a clue. Look at Natalie; she does a much better job at playing UTR than Mick, even when she sticks out like a sore thumb in challenges. Mick is just... rather insignificant, to be honest.

No, I meant Jaison, who would have much to gain from tricking Galu into targeting Russell. First, he disagreed from the start about voting off John and went through a lot to, in his mind, keep immunity from Dave's reach. It must tick him off to know that that was, ultimately, all for nothing. Dave's still here, John's gone, Shambo's pissed, and he got nothing to show for it but this damn T-shirt. And he would make it look like it's been Russell's plan all along, too; Russell would eat it all up. "Hey... uh... you and I both know that you've got the idol... and... uh... Shambo's homing in on you and becoming a liability, so, uh... why not put it to good use?" Ergo, another delicious blindside.

That is... interesting. I thought Jeff said somewhere that there wouldn't be a double-voting this season. Huh.

Ditto. 'Twas rather foolish of Russell to keep Shambo totally in the dark and then spring this on her. Even worse was that she wasn't really totally surprised, with all the dropped hints leading up to the vote that it will definitely be a shock when Shambo knew full well that Dave going was prophesized by Herself. You could see the gears of her mind clicking together slowly like planets colliding. As of now, Shambo is right to see Russell in cahoots with the man who dared criticize her chicken soup (was it even edible, in the end?). Tsk, Russell.

That reminds me, I can't believe they didn't even show what the soup turned out like!

Shambo WAS right about the soup. Do a Google search, you are suppose to boil chicken for two hours to make sure it's cooked properly.

Didn't there used to be a contestant named Brett on this show, or was that my imagination?

Maybe the sound-guy just walked in front of the camera...

Reading some of John's post-show interviews and he said the jury at the Final TC was VERY VERY bitter towards the finalist(s).

Not surprising considering the group of individuals already in the jury...

Ugh, that always bugs me. It's a game and deception is a very large part of it. I especially won't get it if the finalists are all Foa Foa, that'll mean everyone except one (maybe two if you include Shambo in Foa Foa) was just plain outplayed, not really deceived at all.

Yeah its funny when everyone gets mad that they were betrayed. Its in its 19th season, most of these contestants have watched the show, its been made clear that people play in different ways and being deceptive is a big one that cna get you ahead if you play smart.

And yet almost everyone gets mad or feel hurt anyways. Russell has definitely made this season entertaining. Ive only watched a couple seasons of survivor. Last season I watched was China, where Todd, another deceptive person won. I dhighly doubt russell will win though.

The difference with Russell and other people that have played deceptively in the past is that Russell is very arrogant about it and likes to flaunt it in peoples faces.

You can't vote people out, than brag and boast and put them down right to their faces or act all smug about it. That's where he'll lose the game.

Poor guy has been completely overshadowed by everyone else on the show.

As long as Russell keeps finding all of the HII he will be in the game as long as he wants to be. To get rid of him, you are going to have to blindside him bigtime.

With his edit, I highly doubt he'll be anywhere near the final three. That would just be tragic if he made it the end and won with that edit, which is why it won't happen. lol
