In an hour can say I have lived my life free of compromise, and I will step into the shadows without complaint or regret.

Chan would be pretty sweet to see in a sequel. I loved Li and Chan's fight in Forbidden Kingdom but Sly could definitely make them do a better one so that'd be pretty sweet to see. For a sequel all I would like to see is Chan, Banderas, and Snipes.

What about Carl "Action Jackson" Weathers? What about Steven Seagal? Jesse the Body Ventura, the Rock, Vin Diesel, Tony Ja, Donnie Yen, Collin Chou?

Stallone asked Carl Weathers to sign off on Apollo Creed footage for Rocky Balboa (2 seconds long), but apparently he asked for many thousands to do so, which Stallone thought was greedy. So there's bad blood between the pair now, it's highly unlikely he'll ever be in an Expendables movie.

Steven Seagal would be good but I think his ego would get the better of him, between his music/direct-to-DVD movies/lawman/kung fu school/etc ...... he doesn't come across as somebody who would be content not to headline a film.

But hell yeah for the Rock, Vin Diesel, Tony Ja and Jesse Ventura.

If the first one is a hit then I would think some like Van Damme would be more open to a Sequel. Possible money making can do some amazing things to people

I think this film will actually be okay. It's unfortunate that it is being released around the same time as The A Team. People are just gonna think it's a cheap version of it.

So incredibly psyched. We all knew critics would hate it...at least most. Infact, I don't think critics who hate this genre should even review the film because they already have a biased opinion before they even see it.

actually, now that I think about it. Situations like this remind me of the art teacher I had back in school. He enjoyed art ...reviewing peoples work, making his own works. But he hated anime style art. Infact, he didn't even consider it art. Anyone who drew anything anime style would instantly get the lowest grade in the class.

I see the same thing happening in film reviews.

When this movie was being filmed, the Rock was in the middle of his kid friendly films stage. Now that's over with, maybe he'll be a part of the sequel.

Cheap version of it? Have you seen the cast?!?!

WOW I did'nt know Stallone and Carl Wheathers had bad blood between them. I think that is stupid really. An arguement over a 2 second clip in Rocky really?

Many thousands doesn't sound that much to me. That simply sucks about Carl Weathers; I have seen recent interviews with him and he is still in great shape and he aged well also. Seriously, over a couple thousand dollars...they have a 'feud?' I doubt that'll last.

While we're adding names, let's throw in Chuck Norris also.

Add Chuck Norris in a quick cameo where we think it's gonna be this epic fight between him and Sly...and then Sly just ups and shoots him and moves on.

:)

In a sequel, I'd keep the plot very 80s style simple. Here is what I wouldn't mind seeing, if we get one.

Sly said he wanted more Arnold in the 2nd film. It would be nice if somehow they combine both their teams (since Arnie was the original leader). Maybe Church could get kidnapped or killed by more rogue agents and the teams had to infiltrate CIA Headquarters..

Simple. 80s. Something to what I feel could be cool.

Plus, if we got some of the previous approached actors (Snipes, Russel, Van Damme, Segal, SPEAKMAN!!) it would be funny having little side team ups. Like Sly/Arnold Li/Van Damme Segal/Crews etc...

Yeah, enough Chuck Norris jokes already. The biggest joke is Chuck himself.

Stupid ass Van Damme. He should have taken a role in this movie. It's silly that he turned this down when all he's been doing is DTV films. It would have been good for him to be shown on the big screen again.

Hopefully there is a sequel he can be in.

When Van Damme asked "what's my character?"
Stallone should have said " Your wife has been killed and your out for revenge"
Van Damme would of jumped on this .

No deal.

They should bring in Chow Yun Fat to set up my Die Hard Boiled idea.

Carl Weathers actually wanted a role in 'Rocky Balboa' and Sly told him it was impossible since his character was killed off in IV. So as a result, he refused to sign off on the footage and Sly had to superimpose a double for the Apollo scene.

But like you said, it was so fast that you'd hardly be able to see a difference.

Hey,When you see the movie, lets post your crowd reports:yay:.Was your theater full?.I really hope this movie opens big!!:awesome:

True. I kinda laughed when I read that Van Damme wouldn't do Expendables because his character didn't have a decent story etc in it. Asides from JCVD, most of his direct-to-DVD movies over the last 15 years have had him playing exactly the same character who is just basically out to kick ass - so lack of backstory never really bothered him before!
