Mickey Rourke has joined the ranks of "The Expendables," joining the ensemble of the Sylvester Stallone-directed action adventure for Nu Image/Millennium Films.

Rourke will play an unscrupulous arms dealer who becomes the go-to guy for a group of mercenaries planning to topple a South American dictator.

Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Randy Couture and Dolph Lungdren play the title characters. Forest Whitaker and Ben Kingsley are also circling the project.

The Stallone-scripted film begins shooting in March in Brazil. Avi Lerner, John Tompson and Kevin King Templeton are producing, with Boaz Davidson, Trevor Short and Danny Dimbort exec producers.

In recounting his rise to Oscar contention with "The Wrestler," Rourke has credited Stallone for helping him get back in the business at a low ebb, when Stallone met him at a restaurant and gave him a role in "Get Carter."

Rourke is starring in "13," the Gela Babluani-directed remake of the French thriller "13 Tzameti," which also stars Statham, Ray Winstone, Sam Riley, 50 Cent and Ray Liotta.

Ugh! Under Siege was ok, but if Tommy Lee Jones who made a great bad guy, and Erika Eleniak who didnt mind showing off her goods, werent in the movie, the movie would be practically unwatchable.

I disagree, Andrew Davis nails some good action and it fits well as a decent "Die Hard relocated" movie, I'd take Under Siege over anything De-Plank made.

Agreed....I'm not saying these films are superb by any means, but there enjoyable IMO.

Davis has always done some sweet action sequences even in Chain Reaction, but that doesnt make the movie any better.

Theres no denying Seagal could fight and handle himself back in the 80s, but I find him annoying, not so much wooden but more hammy, which is worse than being wooden.

Exactly, the bulk of movies these guys make are 90 minute action fests with bad dialogue and testosterone fueled plots, but they have their place.

He doesn't need more than a couple of lines, if they can fit De-Plank in, they can fit him in.

He still could....he just finish filming episdoes on a show called The Beast I believe(which I think looks good) and that Jessica Biel film Powder Blue.
