I mean this in a non-sarcastic way, but I think this part was an particularly inspired piece of action film-making:

the rapid upside down-shooting camera angle thing. I've seen a few "gun fu" movies in my life, but I don't think I've ever seen that before. It's a fairly straightforward technique to do to, when you think about it.

Any film that has a throwing-knife go into a persons face is worth a look.

Action looks great. To think that about a year ago, there were fears that this was going to be PG-13.

Woah.

I'm one of the Austrian Oak's biggest fans but even I think he's a little past it. The action side of things, anyway.

I'd partly agree with this. Doing the crazy physical stuff like Sly has been doing with all the CQC stuff is certainly out of his range, but I still think he can pull off a lot of action along the lines of True Lies. For the most part the brawling and the gun fighting.

That clip was fantastic, I love how the camera goes upside down with Sly and that Statham is a pro with knives, you don't see that very much in movies so it's pretty awesome.

Consensus: It makes good on the old-school action it promises, but given all the talent on display, The Expendables should hit harder.

So some of you guys may know that my cousin jacked my hype account and posted a troll message about the this movie. Well my friend won some passes earlier today to an advance screening. I was going to go with him but I had to take care of somethings at my University. Well my cousin jacked my pass and went to the screening. After all his trolling and said he really enjoyed the movie. I was like WTF??? He actually wants to see a sequel now lol. I am mad that I missed out on the screening and my *****ebag cousin got to see it before me. Is that messed up or what?? !!

I'd take his word over a critic with this type of film. Usually I'm the opposite but this is the kind of film I'd take a geek's view on this type of genre than a critic. I mean other than Die Hard and Lethal Weapons what other 80's action films have critics rsponded well to in this kind of form? Macho testosterone filled?

I'm sure I will like this movie from what I've seen, but Harry is sooooo biased and bought off. Especially anything with Stallone.

Yeah? If that's the case than I could so without his opinion. I know there's saying that he gets bought off.

But critics would never be satisfied with this anyway. The RT meter says it could have a better punch, if that were the case, they would complain about it being too noisy and loud.

It's Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Sylvester Stallone(well it's his trainer Gunner Petersonon Talking about Sly's training) and Dolph Lundgren. I've only watched the Sylvester Stallone video and it's actually pretty good.

I don't see Chan or Ford fitting in. Ford is a badass in his own way but not on the same level as the rest of those guys. With Chan as I said before, I just don't see him fitting in with this group of characters.

I don't see Ford fitting in but I'd like to see Chan as a bad guy , he might be slower nowadays but it would still be cool to see .


Stallone says he has a "radical" idea for a sequel , that's kind of interesting , wonder what he would do that would be different.

That roadside fight clip was awesome , I'm sold on this film completely.

Chan would be pretty sweet to see in a sequel. I loved Li and Chan's fight in Forbidden Kingdom but Sly could definitely make them do a better one so that'd be pretty sweet to see. For a sequel all I would like to see is Chan, Banderas, and Snipes.
