TDKR vs Iron Man 3: Which is the best SH threequel?

I like IM3, but TDKR is better by a long shot.

 

I'm hearing people say that both suffer from the third movie curse. I haven't seen Iron Man 3 yet but I already doubt that. In order for a comic book movie to suffer from that curse, the first movie has to be good and the second movie has to be just as good or better. That is already not the case with the Iron Man franchise. The first one is great while the second one is just ok.

 

Ranking the individual installments, I'd say most fanboys are split on the starts, agreed on which first sequel is better and probably split again on the thirds.

Giving it to Bat's by default.
But that's an answer to a different question.

 

That is correct about the Iron Man franchise. IM3 is a huge step up from IM2, but not as good as IM1 for me. TDKR is on par with TDK, but weaker than BB for me.

 

It has started already....

Overall the TDK trilogy wins it for me, quite easily to. But I find the TDKR to be so lacking that I'm gonna give it to IM3.

Love BB and TDK. Hate TDKR.
Hate IM and IM2. Love Iron Man 3

 

Why do we even have these threads? It's the same points over and over and no one will ever agree on a concensus. Just shut it down.

Your question is perfectly clear, for some reason I felt like adding a bit extra to it.

 

I'd say it would probably be tied. But, I'm more bias towards TDKR due to being one of the Gothamites lol (film extra).

 

IRON MAN 3- 9/10
TDKR- 7/10

Iron Man 3 because I enjoyed it more!

 

This. IM3 was a far more entertaining movie and Downey is a far more charismatic and engaging character to watch and care about than Bruce in TDKR.

 

IM3, much more entertaining and fun than the 3rd Batman ( which is Ok ).

Im 3 - 6/10

 

Saw the trailers for Ironman 3 on TV and was completely not interested after seeing IM2 on television. Only reason I would even watch it on television eventually would be to see Gwyneth Paltrow - a really nice looking lady!

 

TDKR beats IM3

Exactly, Robert Downey's Stark over Bale's Bruce anyday! The action scenes are much better too, plus the humor, make IM3 more enjoyable IMO.

 

I liked TDKR more than TDK
so i'd definitely say TDKR.

 

I enjoyed IM3. But that's it. That's all these movies have ever given me. A 'romp'. Not a bad thing at all, I'll probably pick up the Bluray, but ultimately...

The Dark Knight Rises. Easily. No contest.

 

I didn't particularly enjoy TDKR and I was disappointed with Iron Man 3 (for reasons I'm sure everyone is aware by now) but I'm gonna go with IM3 simply 'cos I enjoyed it more..

Iron Man 1 and TDK are still the best films from the respective trilogies imo.
