Woe is me.

#1. Crying and complaining about how bad TS was, belongs in either the Terminator thread or the TS Review Central thread.

This thread is meant for the discussion of the box office moneys.

#2. In T1, T2, and T3 the future shots with all the war and lasers took place in the years 2029-2032, and not in 2018.

There are no future shots of 2018 in any of the previous T-Movies, only in the comics. Skynet is just building it's army and developing the more deadly weapons like the lasers and an army of T-800s in the years 2018 though the 2020's.

Now, if say they make T5, or T6 in the years 2029-2032 without lasers or huge war scenes, I will be mad too.

#3. ...and continue bashing TS. :woot:

well then 2018 is wrong :hehe:

Also I didn't hate the movie I just find it to be yet another dumb action movie with Terminator in the title.

I believe this franchise deserves better.

So basically, you bought into the hype

Yep.

and the movie failed to meet the high expectations, that you set for it. Is that it?

The movie failed to meet the high expectations that the director set for it. I lowered my standards before watching it after hearing the bad reviews but I still didn't enjoy it.

I wasn't the only one disappointed by it. You'll notice a lot of critics and the American public have not tended to like it either, and I doubt either group was as hyped as I was. It was a mediocre movie with good action but little characterization and many plot holes.

You obviously.
Nay, I been here since 2004 and I have never been on probation, ever.

I been warned a couple of times by mods for a few fights in other older threads, but never been placed on Pro here on SHH.

I don't post much, maybe that's the reason you though I was on a probation?

Right. It was only recently that we found out Nolan was only on for rewrites to make Bale's role larger.

Learning that Nolan hadn't even written enough to be credited with the script was the first sign trouble was ahead.

I obviously mistook you for another poster. My bad.

Wow, I actually, for the first time ever, agree with you. :woot:

I liked the movie, but yes it could have been way better.
First time for everything.

Yep.

You set high expectations based on what you heard about this film and the movie failed to meet them. It happens.

I think that it failed to meet most people''s reasonable expectations.

Why finally make a future war movie and set it so far in the past that we don't even see a war? Why make the movie about Marcus Wright instead of John Connor?

That's understandable.

They needed to start at the beginning. The "brink" moment that Reese talked about in T1, where humanity was on the verge of extinction.

The problem was when the original script was conceived many years ago, they were looking for a new franchise character (new Terminator) to replace Arnold, instead of shifting the story to John. When McG got the job and was given the original script to work with, he tried to make it work by keeping Marcus' story but also expanding John's role and telling his story as well.

Maybe they should have just scrapped that entire script and wrote a new one after the writers strike?

I know, I know, that makes too much sense.

They probably felt that Marcus' story had potential but also realized the importance of John's story as well. Personally, I'd say this movie is about both characters and their stories are tied together.

You know what I say? Give McG another chance with the sequel, which will hopefully have a better story. TS is not the turd everyone makes it out to be, it just wasn't anything amazing. But I see a lot of good potential in a sequel.

Yep. it makes me nervous now for Public Enemies because I'm getting really hyped for that movie.

Key word.

not if his "rumored plans" for the sequel involving sending John and a freaking Hunter Killer? back in time to 2011 are true

I mean come on, a Hunter Killer? How the hell can a freaking Hunter Killer be sent through time?

what ass hole in what world is he pulling THAT idea from?

if that's true then McG is smoking crack for real

I don't think it was a turd and I enjoyed it as a dumb summer blockbuster. The thing is McG's idea for a sequel is atrocious. If bringing him back means that concept will be used then good riddance.
